Eternalize your big wins with OBS Player!

Recording your online slots sessions using OBS Player.

Nothing wrong with big win screenshots, but it doesn’t really beat watching a Youtube clip of a big win. Many people refrain however from recording their sessions and uploading them because they feel it’s too much trouble.

Sure it’s nice with cool intros and flashy graphical effects if done in the right way and it can add flavor to a video and enhance the experience for the viewers, but it’s not necessary since the slot itself brings enough action. To be able to share a video on your big wins on a forum such as the one we host here is great fun both for yourself and for the members.

In this article we’re going to walk you through what you need to be done. In the example below we have chosen to save the output video file to the G:/ hard drive directly, but you can of course also point to a specific catalogue. For recording format we use mp4 since it can be handled by most video editing software.

Step 1:

The first thing you need to do is to download OBS Player and get familiar with the program. This is the software used to record your sessions and can be downloaded here. Once installed it’s good to do some tweaks in the settings like choose path for where your videos will be saved and what output video format you want.

Unless you’re going to stream, there’s really not much more tweaking to be done.

Next thing to do is to create a “scene” and after that a “source”. For “source” you want “Window capture” as can be seen in the picture below:

In the dropdown box in the “Window Capture” you should be able to choose your browser window where you have your casino slot open if it’s not showing already.

Now you’re ready to click “start recording” and hopefully catch a big win. It’s also good to know that you can adjust the screen on OBS by clicking on the window and using the mouse to either move the whole screen or pull the edges (marked in red) to adjust the size of the window.

Step 2:

Sessions can be very long and render very large video files so it’s recommended that you stop recording after a few slots and start a new recording again to render a new video file. To be able to cut your video into a highlight clip you need a video editing software. If you’re using Windows Live Movie Maker will suffice. Just drag and drop your video into the program, cut where you want it to start and where you want it to end. After this just export the file and save it on your harddrive. If possible, it’s good if you learn how to add a watermark to your videos, it can be anything from using a dedicated watermark feature like many video editing programs have, but adding a line of text on your video is good enough (@myvideo). For a list of some free video editing programs have a look here.

Step 3:

Now you have your video and you need to make it available for the rest of the world. Youtube is the obvious choice and the largest video sharing platform. To create an account on Youtube is really simple and only takes a couple of minutes. Upload your video and share the link on our forum and let us know if this walk through was of any help. It’s not the most extensive one out there but hopefully it can give you an overview.

If you have any questions or need help get going, just make a post in the forum.

Good luck and wishing you big wins!
