Been trying to figure out the real reason(s) why South Park video slot disappeared from NetEnt's slot collection, but it was probably due to copyright/contract issues, or?
It's an old favorite slot of mine. Fan of the show and also fan of those minigames/features they had there. 🙂

Yeah I think the license expired and then they rebranded the slot to this: https://www.bigwinboard.com/arcane-reel-chaos-netent-online-slot
I was part of that production actually, back in the day when I was working at Netent. The rights was only for a set of time, so when they expired - the South Park slots was taken down.
I believe that NetEnt made a skin to the actual game, not sure if they did any changes to the game server. Some Alchemy type theme put on top of it if I remember correctly. Maybe some other forum member knows the name of that slot.
Awesome to get a clarification on this! Always wondered, but at least I wasn't far off from my primary thought...
Sadly, Arcane: Reel Chaos cannot even get CLOSE to what South Park offered... While South Park was FUN and APPEALING, Arcane's just a video slot gone way overboard in terms of seriousness for the game feel, mixed with too much pretentiousness. But, it's nice to know that they tried keeping the SP-"soul" with that game.
Thanks for the answer.
@shookie totally agree with you mate. Was also sad to see that game disappear. I've actually seen several people ask for that particular game. With that said, I don't think NetEnt meant for Arcane to be a replacement for South Park. They just simply reskinned the game and released it as something completely different because they probably knew there could never really be a substitute for South Park once the license was lost.

Ha ha that's insane! Such a small world. What an incredibly cool thing to have been part of. I bet NetEnt at that time was a great experience for you? I can totally see why NetEnt went in the wrong direction and Nolimit in the right direction when people like you jumped ship 😛
Everything comes to an end I guess. My days at Netent was fun, made some really fun titles when I was there - South Park: Reel Chaos was one of them, Guns n' Roses another even tho I wasn't there to finalize it - but it can be demanding to work with branded games. And the rights eventually expires.
Joining a small supplier and doing everything from scratch has been a great move tho - everything is multiplied by 5; meaning the headache/effort, the fun and the passion and overall experience. But it's not like Universal Studios calls me on a Monday and asks me to do a branded title - yet....
