NextGen Gaming was recently acquired by Scientific Gaming (SG, Bally, WMS) and we’re excited to see what will come out of it.
Based on the 2017 blockbuster Kong: Skull Island
The slot comes with 2 random base game features where up to 15 symbols and 12 wilds are added to the reels.

King Kong Fury is a slot produced by NextGen Gaming, now owned by SG Interactive. It is played with 5 reels, 50 paylines and has an RTP of 96.7%. Minimum bet is €0.25 and goes all the way up to a maximum of €500.
It comes with two random features and the King of Skull Island Free Spins. In the Free Spins mode it’s possible to start with up to 100 Free spins with a chance of retriggering endless more.
The highest valued symbol, Tyrannosaurus Rex, pays 10x for 5 on a payline and there is insane potential in this game, which we will come back to later.
Kong represents the wild symbol, is stacked on the reels and only appears on the middle three reels.
The Lightning Reel Feature
The Lightning Reel Feature can appear randomly on any spin, both in the main game and in the bonus, and can add up to 15 premium symbols to the reels. When this feature is triggered, a premium symbol will be revealed and then added to the reels. As mentioned it can add up to 15 of the same symbol and can result in great wins. It’s not too unusual for this feature to trigger.
Kong’s Call Feature
This feature is also activated randomly and can appear both in the main game and the bonus. When the Kong’s Call feature is triggered, a random number of wilds will be added to the reels. If the maximum of 12 wilds are added, all the 3 middle reels will be full stacks of wilds.
King of Skull Island Free Spins
The bonus game is triggered by landing the bonus symbol on the first and last reels. This will take you to the statue reels where you get to spin to reveal the amount of free spins awarded. The statue reel can award the player from 3 to 10 spins each, which are then multiplied. The minimum spins awarded is 9 (3×3) and the maximum is 100 (10×10).
During the bonus it is possible to trigger even more free spins and there is no limit to how many times it can re-trigger.
This feature is only present during the Free Spins. If the player lands a full stack of wilds, it will stick for a re-spin. If more stacked wilds appear, additional re-spins will be awarded. It’s even possible to trigger the Lightning Reel feature and the Kong’s Call feature for massive wins.
King Kong Fury has a max win potential of 500 times the stake on a single spin. What’s interesting here is that the max win potential is the same in the main game as during the bonus.
The features appear from time to time, so there is always something happening. The Lightning Reel feature however seems to appear more often than the Kong’s Call feature. In general it took us about 100-140 spins to trigger a bonus, but bonus freqency can of course vary a lot from session to session.
It’s a really good looking game, with great sound and most importantly, good potential. We feel convinced this will be one of those classic slots players keep coming back to.
