Being slightly impressed by NextGen’s upcoming release Samurai Split we decided to give them yet another try. This is “Renegades” due for release November 1st
Like many other providers NextGen have a mix of great and rubbish slots. Lately however we haven’t seen anything great come out of their factory and it’s more their old classic slots, such as 300 Shields and Medusa II that make them what they are. Their new releases seem to cater more to those who don’t really care about potential and just want a fun time playing medium variance slots.
When we tried this slot the bonus seemed to be triggered about once per 80-100 spins. We’re going to be blunt about this – the base game was really boring and despite adding heartstoppers it never got super exciting as there seems to be no great potential.
This almost feels like something Quickspin would have produced, not sure if the readers will agree.[table “24” not found /]
Renagades is made up of 5 reels, 3 rows and 243 paylines with an RTP of 96.37%. There are 5 main characters in this game but it’s just for looks. They don’t actually make much of a difference except for having different value which just seems lazy. Either way, the characters are Freya (Valkyrie of Valhalla), Valda (Dragonslayer), Harriet (Hellstorm), Raffaela (Blaze) and Ivy (Sabreclaw).
If one of these premium symbols (or a wild) covers two full reels the game goes into heartstopper mode.
No matter how many scatters you land you always get awarded 8 free spins with a chance to retrigger in the bonus.[table “24” not found /]
In the bonus the game automatically awards you with a random renegade symbol and all other renegade symbols will be removed and replaced with your renegade increasing the chances of premium symbol wins. There is honestly not much more going on in the bonus which is not very exciting in our opinion.
We’re not impressed by this. While Samurai Split had some exciting features, awesome graphics and music this is just dull in comparison. This is a medium volatile game and max win is 759 times the stake if you land a full screen Freya symbols. We might try it out a couple of times in real money mode once it’s released but there are far better games to waste your money on.
Renegades is available across all NextGen Casinos.
