Pots O’Riches (Blueprint Gaming): Overview
Blueprint Gaming loves its jolly little Leprechaun. As if Luck O’ The Irish, Irish Frenzy, Wish Upon a Leprechaun, Slots O’Gold, Irish Riches Megaways, and Luck O’ The Irish Megaways didn’t already satisfy our needs, Blueprint is now looking to expand its portfolio of Irish themed slots by adding Pots O’ Riches to the list as well. The actual gameplay is about as unique as the theme, but being part of Blueprint’s Jackpot King system, there’s reason to give it a few spins nonetheless.
Brought to you by Blueprint Gaming, Pots O’ Riches is a relatively simple 5-reel, 20-payline slot that can be played across all devices from as little as 0.20 up to €/£200 per spin. Delivered with all the Irish clichés you could think of, it comes with the Rainbow’s End bonus where you’ll see the leprechaun advance on a trail with multipliers. With a sprinkle of Irish luck, you could also find yourself playing the Pots O’ Gold bonus where up to 500 times your stake can be won. Moreover, there’s also a random cash prize to benefit from in the main game as well as a randomly triggered jackpot game.
Visually, it’s more or less what you’ve come to expect of an Irish themed slot, although the animated leprechaun does add some originality to it. If we’re not mistaken, the voice recording is identical to the one in Slots O’Gold and probably some of the other games as well. In fact, we found the music and sounds to be superior to the visual elements of the game. Set against a lush countryside backdrop with a giant rainbow shooting across the screen, symbols on the reels include 10, J, Q, A and K royals along with only one premium – the Pots O’ Riches symbol. It’s the most rewarding of all standard symbols, giving you 12.5 times your stake for a five of a kind combination – it also appears fully stacked on all reels. The Celtic knot is the wild. It substitutes for all standard symbols and gives you 25 times your stake if you land five of them on a full payline.
Pots O’Riches (Blueprint Gaming): Features
There are in total three features included in Pots O’ Riches, not counting the Jackpot King game. The first one is the Lucky’s Charm feature. It comes into play when 3 or more leprechaun burrow door scatter symbols appear anywhere in view. When triggered, you get to pick one of the doors which will then reveal a multiplier value and reward cash prize of up to 50 times your stake.
Then there is the Rainbow’s End bonus which is played when 3 or more leprechaun scatters land anywhere on the reels. Once activated, you’re taken to a new screen with an increasing multiplier trail. You then get to pick one of the three horseshoes to reveal either a random number of steps for the leprechaun to advance or a collect symbol. If you make it to the end of the trail, you’ll gain access to the main attraction which lead us to…
To trigger the Pots O’ Gold bonus you need to either make it to the end of the Rainbow’s End bonus or land 3 pots of gold scatters on reels 2, 3 and 4 simultaneously. Here you’ll see 12 pots with multiplier values of up to 500x spin in a circle around the leprechaun. Once the pots come to a stop, the randomly rewarded multiplier is then added to your total in the ‘bonus win’ indicator at the top of the screen. The game will now ask you to pick 1 of the 8 clovers on each side of the screen which will either reveal “spin” or “collect”. There’s a cash prize of up to 500 times your stake to pocket in this feature.
Pots O’ Riches is part of Blueprint’s Jackpot King system which means there’s a chance for you to trigger a progressive jackpot while playing the game. To activate the jackpot game, you need to land 5 crown symbols simultaneously. Make it all the way up on the jackpot ladder and you’ll get to spin the wheel to win either win a bet multiplier or one of the jackpots.
Pots O’Riches (Blueprint Gaming): Verdict
Pots O’ Riches is a game with a cultural identity that is more likely to strike a chord with UK players than the rest of the market. Either way, despite being well-executed, it’s not the most unique or exciting game you’ll ever play as the potential is too low and most of the features have been recycled from other Blueprint slots. If it’s the jackpot game you’re after, there are far better Blueprint games to play that are also connected to it, such as Slots O’ Gold Megaways (which also features a leprechaun).
On the positive side, Pots O’ Riches is undoubtedly a charming game that offers balanced gameplay of medium volatility and a whole batch of features to chase. Regardless of our opinion, many players will surely enjoy it even though we did not.
Pots O’Riches is, at best, a step sideways for Blueprint Gaming.
