Flaming Tiki: Slot Overview

As if the Games Global family of studios wasn't impressively sizable enough already, another one has joined the crew under the somewhat boastful name of High Limit Studio. Not 'Nolimit', we've already got one of those, but 'High Limit', and picking a name like that means you kind of have to bring it. If you're interested in seeing what one of the newer (at the time of writing) studios brings to the Games Global fold, why not check out Flaming Tiki with us, an online slot which makes use of the Epic Strike feature and a bout of free spins with a win multiplier attached.

Don't want to come across as all critical right from the start, yet there wasn't much about Flaming Tiki that felt particularly high limit when it first sparked up on the screen. It was okay, with its bamboo lashed game grid plonked on a beach at day's end, or daybreak, with a quartet of flaming poles next to a tiki mask, palm trees, and a pink, purple pastel-coloured sky. It feels like we say this a lot, but the game has a very tangible 9 Masks of Fire thing going on. All over the place, really, from the mask motif to the prize ladder, to the wedging in of a stack of classic slot icons. So far, so mid-limit.

Flaming Tiki slot - base game

Flaming Tiki may be played on a mobile, desktop, or tablet device and takes bets of 20 p/c to $/€120 per spin. Mathematically speaking, Flaming Tiki is a low volatile slot, with three possible return to player values - 96.24% being the highest. The gaming takes place on a 5-reel, 3-row matrix, where winning combinations are evaluated with the help of 20 fixed paylines.

On the symbol side of things, Flaming Tikis has 7 regular pays, divided into four lows and three highs. The lows are card suits, diamonds, clubs, hearts, and spades, while the highs are single 7s, double 7s, and triple 7s. Hitting a five-of-a-kind low pay win awards 1-3.25 times the bet, whereas five of the seven symbols are worth 3.25x (for any combination) up to 37.5x the stake. The 'W' symbol is wild and appears on all five reels. Wilds are able to substitute for any regular paying symbol or dish wins worth up to 125 times the bet for a five wild winning line.

Flaming Tiki: Slot Features

Don't forget to be on the lookout for the Tiki symbol, as this is how cash prizes from the ladder may be won. When 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 Tiki symbols are in view on the reels, players collect a payout worth 1x, 5x, 15x, 40x, 100x, 500x, or 2,000x the bet, respectively. This can occur in the base game or in free spins.

Free Spins

Landing 3 Free Spins symbols triggers a spin on the Free Spins Wheel, plus a payout of 1 times the bet. Free Spins symbols appear on reels 2, 3, and 4. The Free Spins Wheel determines how many free spins are awarded, as well as a win multiplier value. The win multiplier applies to all wins during free spins except Tiki Symbol wins. The initially awarded number of free spins is awarded again when the feature is retriggered.

Flaming Tiki: Slot Verdict

By the end of the test run, while on the whole okay, so-so, not the worst thing since unsliced bread, Flaming Tiki didn't exactly do a whole lot to quicken the pulse, whiten the knuckles, or produce much desire to come rushing back for a round two. It felt like an early release from a budding online slot maker that hadn't quite found their niche, or their feet, or had the confidence to smash expectations by doing something extraordinary. Flaming Tiki doesn't actually do much original of anything either, really, as it's such a close copy of Gameburger Studios' online slot 9 Masks of Fire; in fact, it's basically a clone. Makes sense since 9 Masks has gone on to garner popular acclaim, and a ton of casino game makers have attempted to cash in on the popularity since then. However, Flaming Tikis has been made so carefully close that it's as if High Limit Studio was fearful of upsetting the apple cart.

So close, there's not much to say about the gameplay part of Flaming Tikis that hasn't been said before. Perhaps the most noticeable thing, and it might have been because our luck just wasn't running hot on the day, but the scatter/instant prize feature didn't seem to trigger all that often. Just an observation, like the way Flaming Tiki's max win of 2,000x might not sound impressive, yet is on a par with the game which inspired it, so, eh.

Like an up-and-coming actor who is yet to make their mark in their chosen profession so has to take any old paying gig, similar to Joey from Friends doing the STD advert gig, you can kind of look the other way. However, a name like High Limit Studio set lofty expectations which Flaming Tiki struggled to meet. It might make a suitable substitute for players looking for a similar hit to 9 Masks of Fire but are also Fire-d out. Otherwise, it felt a little too half done to leave much of a mark. Then again, the market or certain segments of the market seem to lap these sorts of games up, so maybe Flaming Tiki will wind up being a hit?

Unadventurous game design means Flaming Tiki fails to kindle much heat despite the flaming theme.
