Suck: Slot Overview
Isn't it a shame that some of the tastiest food items on the menu are often the least healthy for us? Moderation is the key, so they say, but some people find moderation a tough act. One such person is a chap going by the name of Tucker, who plays the leading role in software provider Shady Lady's online slot Suck. The word suck can be used in a variety of different ways, such as a lack of skill, an insult, or even just the physical act of drawing something into the mouth. In the slot, Suck, it has various meanings as well, from the literal removal of unwanted fat from a person's body, to a life that, to some people, might just suck.
The game's sucking takes place in two phases held in two different locations, with outdoor cut scenes in between. Location one is an eating establishment where the main hero, if that's the right word, Tucker, can be found tucking into a table load of fast food between drags on his ciggie and the occasional burp and if you're lucky, fart. Juicy ones too. Just across the way, seen through the window, is the bonus round's clinic location. Tucker goes there to 'get [his] life back on track', by inserting a tube into his tummy and having the fat sucked out of him, not that it stops him shovelling burgers into his mouth. It's all a bit blech, a bit gross, but Suck does shine a spotlight on the vicious cycles of vice, regret, and redemption we can sometimes find ourselves locked into, amplified in some ways by modern living's desire for instant results and instant gratification.

Suck is a scatter pays slot that forms winning combinations when 8 or more matching symbols land anywhere on the 6x5 grid. A cascade feature causes winning symbols to vanish before refilling the grid via a symbol drop. If a new win appears after the cascade, the feature repeats. The sucking is made possible by a highly volatile math model available in three RTP variants, where 96.1% sits at the top. Stacked with buys, Suck's base bet range is $/€0.10 minimum to $/€50 max.
A series of somewhat unwholesome items make up the pay symbols. They are cigarettes, bottle tops, salt shakers, lighters, chips, drumsticks, hot dogs, and pizza slices. A winning combination of 8-of-a-kind pays 0.5x to 5x, all the way up to 10x to 100x for 20+ OAK. Wilds have been sucked out of this game, so they do not appear.
Suck: Slot Features

On the menu are mystery symbols, multipliers, a bonus game, a super bonus game, and lashings of feature buy options.
Life on a Plate
Giant Burger mystery symbols can appear at any time from 2x2 to 5x5 in size. After a Burger lands, it reveals a random pay symbol, and a random number of hot-sauce bottles may appear as well.
Some Hot Sauce With That?
Hot-sauce bottles can land on the grid or be revealed by Burger symbols, though they are a base game only feature. They can explode after a cascade when no more wins occur, spreading hot-sauce in a random linear pattern over the grid. Hot-sauce positions may have multipliers or be empty. Empty hot-sauce positions are removed and cause a cascade. Multipliers are collected at the end of the spin, and the summed total is applied to the total win. If two hot-sauce multipliers are in the same position, they multiply each other to combine. Hot-sauce bottles that don't explode have a chance of reactivating if cascades occur after the failed explosion.
Bonus Game
Hitting 3 Scatters triggers 6 free spins. During the round, a LipoSuck Pro Pump is placed outside the reels. After each winning spin, the gauge connected to the pump spins. If it lands in green, the pump activates. The Pump has four levels, each with a multiplier attached. When activated, the pump sucks fat until a random level is reached, and that multiplier is applied to the spin's win. Tucker may kick the pump at times, which can lead to a level upgrade or to the combination of the already collected multiplier and a multiplier from a higher level.
The pump's starting levels and max levels are Level 1 x2-x10, Level 2 x3-x100, Level 3 x5-x500, and Level 4 x10-x2,000. Values can be upgraded when a Multiplier Upgrade symbol lands, by +x2-x5, up to the capped amount. Two other symbols may land in free spins. The Extra Spin symbol grants +1 free spin, while the Gauge Upgrade symbol gets collected to increase the activation area of the gauge, making a pump activation more likely.
Super Bonus Game
Landing 4 scatters triggers 8 Super Bonus free spins. They play like regular free spins except the pump activation only resets on pump multiplier wins, so gauge upgrades can carry over between free spins. In addition, the cap for Level 1, 2, 3, and 4 is raised to x20, x200, x1,000, and x9,999.
Store
The store is where players can buy boosters, bonus buys, Highlight Reels, and Loot Boxes. The Bonus Boost costs 1.5x, and the Big Bonus Boost costs 5x to increase the chance of triggering the bonus round. Burger Boost costs 15x and lands a Burger symbol on each spin. As for buys, the Bonus Buy, Super Bonus Buy, Bronze Bonus, Silver Bonus, and Gold Bonus cost 79x, 292x, 129x, 348x, and 1,596x the stake, respectively. Highlight Reels (the top 3 of a set amount of spins) vary from 80x to 860x, while Loot Boxes come with price tags of 186x to 571x the stake.

Suck: Slot Verdict
Ever since Shady Lady burst on the scene, it's proven time, and again it's not a studio that's afraid of taking on odder subject matter. At times, rather squeamish subject matter. From the severed digit of Devil's Finger to the peculiar music produced by shock collared aliens in Orphan Organ, Shady Lady has displayed a willingness to dive onto grenades of odd themes other studios are unwilling to stain their fingers with. Suck is another one. This isn't the sort of feel-good game you chuck on to inject a burst of perky sunshine into your life. The opposite, really, as players sit through Tucker sadly filling his face, before having the fat sucked out of him, before getting grilled by his unpleasant missus on the phone. You really hope this guy turns his life around for the better because a Suck sequel could be pretty dark indeed.
From theme to gameplay, and while Suck is Shady Lady's first scatter paying slot, it is by no means a Gates of Olympus wanna be. It does have multipliers, though, big wins, especially if you can break into the super bonus round. Even the base game dabbles with them when produced by hot-sauce symbols and Burgers. But free spins are where you want to be to attempt the full-blown effect. The way multipliers enter the free spins action is quite interesting. Instead of multiplier symbols, players get the chance to inject them on each winning spin. Will they or won't they is down to the whims of the pump. Pump enhancements are welcome, whether they be value increases or an upgraded gauge, since multipliers of up to x2,000 have the ability to really make a session.
Amidst a sea of slots that try to be your best friend or the life of the party, Suck sticks out like a sore thumb. It's a comedic game, but it's also surprisingly human in the way it shines a light on vice, dare we say depression, and the destructive cycles we can find ourselves wallowing in. It's still a slot, though, one with a win cap of 20,000x the bet, so while it won't be to every taste, if you're looking for a scatter pays slot which rejects Gates of Olympus gloss in favour of bulging bellies, saturated fat, and everyday anti-heroes, this is the one.
Suck pairs one of the strangest, darkest themes in slots with inventive scatter-pay mechanics and serious multiplier potential, making it a bold, uncomfortable, but genuinely engaging experience.
