Treats of Terror 2: Slot Overview
From Halloween, to A Nightmare on Elm Street, to Friday the 13th, some of the most successful horror films come in franchises, and so it may be when it comes to horror slots. At least, that's probably what developer Play'n GO will be hoping for with the release of Treats of Terror 2, a sequel to the 2025 release Treats of Terror. Horror is a subjective thing, since what scares the undies off sensitive viewers may barely register with those brave of heart. However, for those who do scare easily, don't worry, like the original, Treats of Terror 2 doesn't terrify a hapless group of youths, but instead, a psychotic gobstopper attempts to disembowel a hapless group of edible snacks.
Where the predecessor had a movie theatre vibe, Treats of Terror 2 switches the scene to a sort of 80s/90s video game arcade setting. Neon lighting provides much of the illumination, while banks of arcade games line either wall, displaying links to previous Play'n GO slots, which is always a neat wee touch. The location and theme of Treats of Terror 2 might have been altered, but its characters and spirit are similar to the previous game in that the atmosphere is closer to zany comedy than blood-drenched horror, which forever taints your mind with images you can't unsee.

Like its older bro, Treats of Terror 2 is a scatter paying slot played on a 5x5 grid that creates a winning combination when 6 or more matching symbols land anywhere on the reels. Winning symbols explode, making way for a symbol drop to refill the reels, which will repeat like this as long as new wins appear. The volatility has been lowered a notch, though it is still classified as high, while the max RTP is 96.2%. As well as the GO Ultra ante bet, regular bets of $/€0.10 to $/€50 may be picked.
Five M&M-type objects are the low pay symbols, while drink cans, chocolate bars, and packs of snacks are the high pays. Hitting a 6-of-a-kind winning combination pays 0.3x-1.5x the bet, increasing to 1.2x-15x for a 10+ OAK hit. As before, wild symbols do not appear in the game at any stage.
Treats of Terror 2: Slot Features

Treats of Terror 2's snack list contains the GO Ultra ante bet, Bonus Treats collection, Terry Treats, and free spins.
Bonus Treats Collection
Bonus Treat symbols have 16 stages, and can land at any time. Each stage represents a bet multiplier. Regular Bonus Treats have values of 1x to 9x the bet. Special Bonus Treats have the Mini, Minor, Major, Mega, or Grand prize, worth 10x, 25x, 100x, 250x, or 1,000x the bet, respectively. Collector symbols can land at any time, as well, and when they do, they award the value of the Bonus Treat symbols on the reels. If multiple Collector symbols land, each one collects the Bonus Treat symbols.
Terry Treats
At the end of a spin in the base game, any uncollected Bonus Treats are absorbed by Terry. Collecting Bonus Treats gives a chance to trigger Terry Treats. When activated, Terry awards 5 random Bonus Treats worth from 1x to the Grand.
Free Spins
Landing 3 or more scatters in the base game triggers 8 free spins with an x2 win multiplier. Collecting 5 scatters during the feature upgrades the round to the next stage. Stage 2 awards +5 free spins and increases the multiplier to x2, stage 3 awards +7 free spins and increases the multiplier to x5, and stage 4 awards +8 free spins and increases the multiplier to x10. Scatters do not land at stage 4, and the number of free spins is capped at 28 .
GO Ultra
The GO Ultra is a betting option that can be turned on and off in the base game. When activated, the bet increases by 50% for the following perks - Bonus Treats that land are guaranteed to upgrade by one stage higher, the Grand, Mega, Major, Minor, and Mini values are doubled, the initial number of awarded free spins is 13, and the free spins multiplier starts at x3.

Treats of Terror 2: Slot Verdict
Have to say that expectations were higher than what Treats of Terror 2 ultimately delivers. The original had a distinctive personality, blending cartoonish horror with a candy-coated theme, and the sequel keeps that identity intact. Play'n GO has done a good job evolving the setting from the movie theatre of the first game to a neon-lit gaming arcade. There is a nostalgic charm to it, and observant players may enjoy spotting references to other Play'n GO titles hidden in the background, along with Terry the gobstopper villain making playful nods to famous horror characters.
Mechanically, however, Treats of Terror 2 doesn't feel like a major step forward. The base game still revolves around scatter wins and collecting Bonus Treats, now including the Terry Treats mechanic, while players wait for free spins to arrive. A new stage 4 has been added to the bonus, and the GO Ultra ante bet can alter how the features behave by improving treat values, spin counts, and the starting multiplier. While this option does make the game more eventful, it also feels somewhat necessary given how quiet the base experience can be.
Despite an expanded maximum win of 15,000x the bet, the gameplay often feels quite repetitive. Bonuses appear infrequently, and when they do trigger, the results are not always particularly exciting. Even the collector-style mechanic can feel underwhelming considering how much needs to be gathered before it activates.
Visually, though, Play'n GO has done a strong job. The arcade theme is colorful and lively, the animations are polished, and the evolving collector character adds some personality to the presentation. In the end, Treats of Terror 2 looks the part and will likely find its audience, but mechanically it doesn't move far beyond the formula of the original.
Treats of Terror 2 looks great and oozes arcade charm, but repetitive gameplay, weak rewards, and an underwhelming bonus keep it from matching its lively presentation.
