Disco Balls Live by Evolution
Evolution is heading back to the dance floor with Disco Balls Live, a new live casino game that combines a 1-20 ball draw with evolving multipliers and the familiar Disco bonus games from Funky Time.
Rather than spinning a wheel, players are trying to predict which numbered ball will eventually emerge from the machine. The concept is straightforward, but Evolution adds several layers of multiplier action before the final result is revealed. In fact, Disco Balls is Evolution’s first game to feature multipliers that continue evolving throughout the main game round.

How Disco Balls Live Works
Each round begins with a betting phase where players can select individual numbers from 1 to 20. There are also four broader betting options: Low covers 1-10, High covers 11-20, while Even and Odd cover their respective sets of ten numbers.
Once betting closes, Disco Cat enters with a collection of disco balls and randomly distributes up to four multipliers across the 20-number grid. Cat multipliers range from x3 to x20, while Ball multipliers range from x3 to x10. A number can receive multiple multipliers, in which case their values are added together.
Disco Cat also selects one number to receive either a Disco or VIP Disco Bonus symbol. This becomes the Bonus number for that round and can additionally receive a Bonus game multiplier of up to x25.
Step Balls and Evolving Multipliers
The actual draw then begins, but the first ball doesn’t necessarily decide the round. The machine contains two different types of balls: Step balls and Result balls. Step balls move either the red or gold multiplier ladder upwards by one or two levels. These ladders begin at x5 and can climb all the way to x500.
The red ladder applies when an odd number eventually wins, while the gold ladder applies to an even winning number. Every Step ball also brings Disco Cat back into play, giving it another opportunity to distribute multipliers and Bonus symbols across the grid. This creates the main source of suspense in Disco Balls. Instead of immediately wanting the Result ball to appear, additional Step balls can potentially make the round considerably more valuable before the winning number is finally determined.
When a Result ball eventually drops, its number from 1 to 20 decides the outcome. Winning bets are then paid using the multipliers accumulated during the round. If the very first ball drawn is already a Result ball, an x5 multiplier applies.

Disco and VIP Disco Bonus Games
Landing on the designated Bonus number takes the action into either Disco or VIP Disco, both returning from Evolution’s Funky Time. Mr Funky begins in the centre of a dance floor while the host operates an eight-sector mini wheel containing four directions: up, down, left and right. Each spin determines Mr Funky’s next move, and the feature continues until he eventually falls off the dance floor.
The key difference between the two versions is size. Disco uses a 37-square dance floor, while VIP Disco expands this to 63 squares.
Regular multiplier squares add their values to the total. These initially range from x1 to x100 in Disco and x1 to x500 in VIP Disco. Floor multiplier squares instead double the values of five randomly selected Regular multiplier squares. Once Mr Funky collects a multiplier, that particular square remains empty for two moves before resetting to its original type and value.
Importantly, the main game isn’t forgotten once the bonus starts. Cat, Ball and ladder multipliers collected beforehand are added directly to the total. If the winning Bonus number received a Bonus game multiplier, all Regular multipliers on the dance floor are multiplied by that value before the feature begins.
Disco Balls Live RTP and Maximum Payout
Disco Balls comes with an optimal theoretical RTP of 96.08% on numbered bets and a maximum payout of €500,000. Evolution notes that the €500,000 payout ceiling affects the return when playing at the maximum stake. In that situation, the RTP for numbered bets drops to 95.25% due to the cap.
Disco Balls Live – Final Thoughts
Disco Balls takes some of the most recognisable elements from Funky Time but builds a substantially different main game around them. The combination of a physical ball draw, repeated Disco Cat multiplier drops and red/gold ladders that can continue climbing until the Result ball appears gives each round a clear sense of progression.
The returning Disco and VIP Disco games also fit naturally into the concept rather than simply being attached as separate bonus rounds. With multipliers accumulated in the main game carrying into the bonus and the possibility of reaching 10,000x, there is plenty happening between placing the initial bet and discovering the final payout.
For players who enjoyed Funky Time’s colourful disco presentation and Mr Funky’s unpredictable trips around the dance floor, Disco Balls Live looks set to offer a familiar atmosphere with a very different route to getting there.
