Dyna'Mike BoosterBelt Slot
Dyna'Mike Booster Belt is Aloha Gaming's second release and another attempt to do something a little different with the standard cascading slot formula. The mining setting itself is nothing particularly unusual, but the BoosterBelt mechanic certainly is, wrapping around the grid and feeding symbols through the game while Mike travels towards the BoomStations. It takes a few spins to understand exactly what is happening, but once the movement starts to make sense, the game has a decent flow to it.
The main attraction is getting Mike onto one of the BoomStations to trigger an explosion. These Boom Events clear symbols from the central grid and can break open Mystery Blocks containing Wilds, Diamond Wilds, Cash Nuggets and Free Spins symbols. Diamond Wilds are particularly useful, carrying x2, x3 or x5 multipliers that are added together when several contribute to the same win. There is a reasonable amount going on without the game simply relying on the usual collection meters or persistent multiplier positions.

Landing 3 Free Spins symbols triggers Here Comes The Boom with 10 free spins, while 4 unlock Blastageddon with 20 spins and an increased frequency of Mystery Blocks. Extra Spins can also be uncovered during the features to extend the round. Both bonuses can be purchased directly for 100x and 250x the bet respectively, where the feature buy option is available.
The numbers are respectable as well, with a 96.32% RTP and max win of 15,000x the bet. Still, the unusual layout is something of a double-edged sword. The BoosterBelt gives Dyna'Mike its identity, but the way symbols move around the grid can initially be confusing, and much of the more interesting gameplay depends on Mike reaching a BoomStation and opening those Mystery Blocks.
Dyna'Mike Booster Belt deserves some credit for trying something different, particularly at a time when so many new slots are built around virtually interchangeable mechanics. The BoosterBelt and BoomStations give the game a distinctive structure, and the cleaner presentation appears to be a step forward from Aloha Gaming's first release. However, originality alone doesn't necessarily make a great slot. The unusual symbol movement can be awkward to follow, while the gameplay becomes considerably less interesting when the Boom Events aren't doing much. There are some good ideas here and a respectable 15,000x max win, but they don't quite come together strongly enough to push Dyna'Mike Booster Belt beyond the middle of the pack.
