Pots of Power Mummy's Treasure takes AvatarUX back to its Pots of Power formula, replacing the Greek mythology of Pots of Power Zeus with an Egyptian tomb full of mummies, scarabs and treasure. The theme itself is about as familiar as slots get, and much of the underlying concept has been carried across from its predecessor. The main attraction remains the Hold & Win bonus, where a three-part wheel can produce 27 different starting configurations.
Regular play takes place on a 5x3 grid with 25 fixed paylines and is relatively straightforward. Bonus symbols are collected into the Pharaoh's pot above the reels, with each one carrying a chance of randomly triggering the Hold & Win feature. Once activated, the Bonus Wheel determines three elements of the upcoming round: a 5x4, 5x5 or 5x6 grid; 3, 4 or 5 spins; and 2, 3 or 4 Power Frames.
Those Power Frames provide the feature's main mechanic. Each carries its own value and moves around the board between spins. When a Frame lands on a Coin, its value is added to that Coin. If two or more Power Frames become horizontally or vertically connected, their values are combined and the resulting total is applied to every connected Frame. This allows their values to increase considerably as the feature progresses.
Completely filling the board provides an additional reward based on its size. Filling a 5x4 grid doubles the total pot, a full 5x5 grid applies a 3x multiplier, and completing the largest 5x6 setup increases the entire pot by 4x. There is no way to upgrade the initial bonus configuration once the feature has started, so the wheel result has a substantial influence on the quality of the round.
Where available, the standard bonus can be purchased for 100x with its setup determined randomly by the wheel. Bonus Max costs a much steeper 500x but guarantees the strongest combination of a 5x6 board, 5 spins and 4 Power Frames. An Ante Bet is also available for 1.5x the normal stake, doubling the probability of triggering the bonus naturally. Overall payout potential reaches 10,000x.
Pots of Power Mummy's Treasure is more interesting inside the Hold & Win than it is outside it. Moving Power Frames and the possibility of connecting them to build larger values add some welcome interaction to a format that can otherwise become very static, while the 27 possible starting configurations provide some uncertainty whenever the bonus activates. The problem is that regular play offers little beyond waiting for that moment, and the Egyptian makeover doesn't give the sequel much personality of its own. It's a competent continuation of Pots of Power Zeus rather than a significant evolution, with a decent bonus mechanic doing most of the work.
