11 Coins of Fire: Slot Overview
If you've been around the slot block one or two times, it'll take less than a nanosecond to clock that 11 Coins of Fire from All41 Studios is based on an earlier game from fellow Microgaming stablemate Gameburger Studios. We're talking about 9 Masks of Fire, of course, a game that has gone on to inspire countless follow-ups from a variety of different studios. Scatter win games might have existed before Gameburger changed the landscape, but for whatever reason, 9 Masks marked a turning point in slot development, and the world hasn't looked back. For 11 Coins of Fire, All41 Studios has taken the popular format and adorned it in Viking garb.
Visually, 11 Coins of Fire is quite good. It wasn't so from the very beginning, as something about the reel set and prize ladder had a slight old before its time look. Then, our eyes drifted to the background, where a glowing aurora borealis glitters mystically above a misty Scandinavian settlement, bathing the scene an eerie turquoise light, giving it an almost mystical quality. What got the adrenaline going, though, was the game's rumbling, experimental soundtrack, like a Nordic version of Sepultura's album Roots. There were all sorts of interesting noises in there, which brought to mind rituals by firelight on an icy winter night to commune with the spirits of the ancestors.

11 Coins of Fire is a much more tightly wound game than 9 Masks of Fire was, powered by a highly volatile math model generating a return to player value of 96.4%. Be aware that this is the default value, and there are three others, dropping as low as 86.7% (Germany), depending on the setting. Hits come at a rate of around one spin in four (27.43%), and stakes range from 20 p/c to $/€25 per spin.
Played on a 5x3 matrix, regular payouts are produced when three to five matching symbols land left to right across the game's 25 fixed paylines. Players pocket a win of 1 to 3.25 times their stake for the five low pay diamonds, clubs, hearts, or spades, before rising to 7.5 to 37.5x the bet for five helms, arrowheads, or banners. Substituting for all symbols except scatters or golden coins is the wild symbol, which also pays out 50x the bet for five wilds across a payline.
11 Coins of Fire: Slot Features

The main aim of 11 Coins of Fire is to land as many golden coin symbols as possible to pick up a corresponding instant prize. A common feature, yet for some reason, All41 Studio has named their version of it Epic Strike. Despite the fancy name, Epic Strike functions the same as any other. Appearing on all reels are golden coin symbols. Landing 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, or 11 of them pays a prize of 1x, 5x, 15x, 40x, 100x, 500x, 2,000x, 5,000x, 10,000x the bet, respectively. Golden coins pay from any position.
Treasure Pick
Not only are golden coins connected to the Epic Strike feature but whenever they land, there is a chance they trigger the Treasure Pick feature. When triggered, it begins with 15 treasure chests in view, which players open one at a time. Chests either reveal golden coins or silver coins. Revealing a silver coin ends the feature, and the number of coins in view awards a respective Epic Strike prize as detailed above.
Free Spins
One more feature is free spins, triggered when 3 bonus symbols land on reels 2, 3, and 4. Once triggered, 10 free spins are awarded where 30, 60, or 100 extra wild symbols are randomly added to the reels. Free spins can be retriggered, and it is possible to win Epic Strike prizes during the bonus round.

11 Coins of Fire: Slot Verdict
We alluded to the fact 11 Coins of Fire is basically 9 Masks of Fire with a few extra bits added on; even the names are similar. In addition, 11 Coins of Fire is essentially a clone of 11 Enchanting Relics, a slot All41 released a few months prior. If you found the relic-y one entertaining, then 11 Coins of Fire will be as well because the two-game are exactly the same in terms of stats, features, and gameplay.
For our money, 11 Coins of Fire was more enjoyable to review, though. All41 has done a nice job with the theme, and you can see why developers find the Vikings so irresistible. Has there been one of these 9 Masks style games with Viking stylings before? If not, then someone was bound to do one sooner or later, and it's good All41 took up the challenge because they've put the Nordic-ness to good use. The visuals are pleasingly heavy, and the sound effects made a positive impact, which, when added together, managed to out-clan 9 Masks of Fire in many ways.
Gameplay-wise, 11 Coins of Fire is business as usual, meaning battling through, on the hunt for golden coins to collect something from the Epic Strike prize list. The other bits, such as free spins with extra wilds and the Treasure Pick, do help mix things up and keep the game flowing. It all made for a pretty entertaining way to chase down 11 Coins' 10,000x top prize – five times what the originator had to offer, so there's plenty to play for.
While 11 Coins of Fire is a clone of an already fairly unoriginal slot, it felt like an improvement on 11 Enchanting Relics, so let's just try to overlook that. After all, any player looking for something with a bit more grunt than 9 Masks of Fire, then 11 Coins of Fire is as good a choice as any other. It's got a larger top prize, extra wild free spins, and the Treasure Pick add on, all wrapped up in a cosy Viking duvet.
For a moodier version of 9 Masks of Fire with higher volatility and rewards, 11 Coins of Fire could be just the ticket.
