Bubblegum Burst might sound like a fun, sugar-rush-filled ride, but in reality, it feels more like chewing a piece of gum that's already lost its flavour. Playtech has packed in two bonus features - the Plinko jackpot and a free spins round with a progressive win meter - but despite this, the gameplay never quite hits the sweet spot. The Plinko feature is rare, and when you do finally land the free spins, the excitement is often short-lived, especially when those higher multipliers are wasted on strings of dead spins.
That said, the candy-coated visuals are pleasant enough, and the inclusion of both cascading wins and a scatter pays mechanic does keep things moving at a decent pace. It's just unfortunate that the bonus rounds don't feel as rewarding or well-balanced as you'd hope for in a game of this type.
