How Realistic are any RTPs ?
Feel free to set me straight on this if you have facts not hearsay .
ive been sucked into this incredible world of gambling hell for about 30 years now . Since we moved from pub/shop to online I’ve been fascinated and also dumbfounded by the alleged RTP ? If you use UK as your home jurisdiction could someone explain whether any games RTP is taken as read by the authorities or actually tested in house . In addition to this do any games RTP providers actually use real users data rather than a computer simulation for an unrealistic billion spins . At present it’s pie in the sky stats to say incredible new No F**K chance City has an RTP of 96.7 % . It’s totally meaningless . And as a follow on why do game providers give crypto gambling sites different RTPs , you might as well give them demo versions at 98.8% and amazingly win big funny money . I totally get the house must have an edge but the whole industry seems like smoke and mirrors and if you’re too stupid to realize that then more fool you
I’ve noticed RTP feels “off” only in short sessions, but long-term logs usually land close to the stated value. What helped me was tracking results over a few months and comparing them to the game’s official math. I also found the *spam removed* handy for checking which casinos actually use the higher RTP settings, because some quietly choose the lower versions.
The games RTP is certified over billions of spins by eCOGRA (i believe thats the right company). So the RTP advertised is always correct but as you say, when it's calculated over billions of spins and a provider like NLC with ultra volatility the RTP is pretty meaningless. The only time it will really come into effect is over multiple years of play.
As for your second question, Crypto sites get higher RTP deals on games because they don't have to pay all the costs of taxes, regulation, fines for player protection failures etc etc. They can offer 99%+ games and still make money. So simply put, they request these games because they can afford too. It's also a marketing tool to say "i have your favourite game at a higher rtp than anywhere else, come play here".
The rise of crypto sites offering 100% RTP originals games also shows that they don't even need to have an edge in alot of these games. Player behaviour generally means everyone will give all the money they win back eventually anyway.
Personal opinion: If you're fedup of how the slots are nowadays avoid NLC, modern prag, hacksaw and just play old netent games, old prag games and old playngo games. You'll get a much more stable experience and come out much closer to the RTP over regular playtimes. The obsession with the providers and the community with 'max wins' has led pretty much all modern games to be ultra volatile even if they claim not to be. These providers view players getting max wins as marketing so they want them to be 'achievable' but that RTP has to come from somewhere.
(have also just realised i've replied to a gravedug thread by a spammer, my bad. I still think the conversation is worth having though so i'll leave this here.)
