House of Doom Introduction

House of Doom is another video slot from Swedish providers Play'n GO, who's been very active with releasing games during the first quarter of 2018. The slot has a unique look and sound, but the mechanics and features we've seen before.

House of Doom is 5-reel, 3-row slot with 10 fixed paylines and players can bet from 0.10 to 100 EUR. Pretty much standard so far.

There are 4 premium symbols represented by ram skulls, flaming roses, crosses and pentagrams, with the ram skull being the top one awarding you 70x for 5 of a kind. The low value symbols are represented by gothic style looking A, K, Q, J and 10.

This is a step away from all the cartoonish and childish type slots they've been releasing lately, so it's nice to see some change. If you're not a fan of rock music however, this might be a bit of a turn off as the sound track can probably be a bit annoying to some. It's got a dark heavy metal, horror type of theme with a spooky backdrop.

The Wild symbol is worth 100x for 5 of a kind and furthermore, on each base game spin, one reel is randomly highlighted and if the Wild symbol lands on this reel it will expand and give you a full wild reel.

House of Doom Features

The game features both a Bonus game called the Skull Abyss Bonus and a Free Spins game called Doom Spins.

Skull Abyss Bonus

The Skull Abyss Bonus game is a picking type bonus and is triggered when the Skull Scatter symbol lands on the 3 middle reels. Like most picking bonuses, especially in Play'n GO slots, it's nothing that will get your heart rate going. What happens in this bonus is that you get to pick skulls one at a time and which will then reveal cash prizes. What's interesting however is that it's possible to trigger the Doom Spins, so they've added a bit of a twist here to an otherwise boring, standard picking bonus. Great.

Doom Spins

This is where the magic happens...or could potentially happen. To trigger the free spins, one has to land the House of Doom symbol on reels 1, 3 and 5, which will then award you 10 free spins. In the free spins mode, the House of Doom Scatter is transformed into a House of Doom Wild symbol to give you more wilds.

In the Free Spins mode, the number of highlighted reels are increased compared to the base game. It will randomly highlight between 2 and 5 reels and if a Wild or Wild House of Doom symbol lands on these reels, they will then expand into a wild reel. Potentially this can result in 5 wild reels and a 2500x win per spin!

Three or more Wild House of Doom symbols award the player with one additional free spin per symbol. There is no limit to how many times the game can re-trigger.

House of Doom Conclusion

House of Doom is a high variance slot with an RTP of 96.1%, but this can be much lower on some casinos so always check the helpfile to see what RTP version you are playing.

House of Doom is very much a standard Play'n GO slot and the only thing to make it stand out a bit is the design and theme. This doesn't mean it's a bad game mind you, but it's hard to get hyped when offering no innovative features. It's got good potential though and two types of features to keep the excitement level up. This is very much needed as the base game is kind of...meh.

If you can live with the music and the gothic looks, then you might enjoy the game.

House of Doom is available exclusively right now at LeoVegas, Videoslots, and Metal Casino.
