Legion Gold Victory: Slot Overview
To conquer millions of square kilometres and around 20% of the Earth's population as Ancient Rome did without the aid of sophisticated communication equipment or motorised vehicles requires a special kind of persistent effort. A hint of that persistence has trickled down to modern times as software provider Play'n GO continues to release slots in its Legion Gold range. There are four of them at the time of writing - Legion Gold, Legion Gold Unleashed, Legion Gold and the Sphinx of Dead, and the slot under review here, Legion Gold Victory. If you liked the modest winning potential, basic hold 'n win Coin bonus, and the Wolf Gold-ish free spins round found in previous slots, well, they're all back with a new for the series Victory Gold feature.
The Roman Empire was a big place, and it is hard to tell where players find themselves in Legion Gold Victory. The game drops few definitive hints about the territory the legionaries displayed on either side of the gaming grid might be marching through. Perhaps the unknown was just what being a soldier was like back then. Some tribune said march, you marched over there. The centurion told you to sack that village and stab every inhabitant with a sword, guess you just did it. Maybe back then, it was possible for a legionnaire to dream about trading in a life of warfare for one of peace, tilling their own bit of land, kind of like dreams of retirement now, but with more stabbing and marching.

The slot's maker has stuck to the same gaming area for all games in the series so far, meaning a 5x3 grid with 25 paylines for calculating winning combinations. Also clinging to tradition, Legion Gold Victory has a medium volatile math model, producing a slightly higher RTP than the others at 96.3% at best, with lower return configurations to be aware of. A stake of 5 c to $/€100 may be picked, and once that's done, it's time to press play to get the reels spinning.
Animals and royals make up Legion Gold Victory's list of paying symbols. Jack to Ace are first, and they pay 2 times the stake for a winning line of 5-of-a-kind. After them are a bird, a warthog, a deer, and a wolf, all geared for battle, paying 8 to 20 times the bet for 5 OAK. Wilds may appear in dimensions of 1x1 or expand to 1x2 or 1x3, substituting for all of the regular paying symbols. A line of 5 wild symbols is worth 20x.
Legion Gold Victory: Slot Features

Each previous Legion Gold slot, with the exception of the Egypt one, has added a feature, and Legion Gold Victory does, too. As well as the Gold Respins and Mega Free Spins of the past, this release introduces a new Victory Gold prize feature.
Gold Respins
Landing 6 Gold Coin symbols triggers 3 Gold Respins where only Gold Coins or Gold Coin Bags may land. If a Gold Coin hits, then the number of respins is reset to 3. Gold Coins are sticky, and when the feature ends, all Gold Coin values in view are awarded. Gold Coins have a random value of 1x to 1,000x the bet. Landing a Gold Coin Bag symbol awards the total value of all Gold Coins currently on the grid. Gold Coin Bags in Gold Respins do not stick, but they do reset the spin count back to 3. If Gold Coins fill all positions on the reels, a 1,000x Golden Prize is awarded on top of all values of the Gold Coins on the reels.
Victory Gold
If Gold Coins land but Gold Respins are not triggered and there is no Gold Coin Bag, then the Gold Coins are collected by the Victory Gold above the reels. When this happens, there is a chance that the Victory Gold awards the player the Victory Prize. The amount players can win, and the chance of the Victory Gold activation is not affected by the number of Gold Coins collected.
Mega Free Spins
Landing 3 scatters awards 5 Mega Free Spins. A 3x3 Mega symbol lands on a random position on each free spin. Mega Free Spins can be retriggered by landing the Mega Scatter - up to a cap of 45 free spins. Moreover, Gold Respins can be triggered during Mega Free Spins by landing the Mega Gold Coin. This breaks the Mega Gold Coin down to 9 Gold Coins with random values. When Gold Respins ends, the game returns to the free spin where the Gold Respins feature was triggered.

Legion Gold Victory: Slot Verdict
Legion Gold Victory keeps the franchise plodding along as it picks up a feature here or there, diversifying the ways it can potentially entertain and reward lucky players. For the most part, Legion Gold Victory is about the same as those that came before it. Gold Respins are a lacklustre event where Gold Coin symbols hit and stick. The Gold Coin Bag introduced in Legion Gold Unleashed spices up play to a degree, though Mega Free Spins have remained virtually untouched since the series started. The graphical and sound standards have been pretty decent the whole way through, and Legion Gold Victory is also not hard on either the eyes or the ears.
Legion Gold Victory's new bit is the Victory Gold feature. It's fine. Gathering Gold Coins by the Victory Gold helps keep the mind occupied, not to mention increasing anticipation when this happens, crossing fingers that coins may spill over into a cash prize. Victory Prizes aren't huge, though, as 100x is as high as they get. However, this extra feature is joined by an increase in winning potential, and though 4,000x is nothing to write home about, it is a more attractive number than what previous Legion Gold games had. What kills any hint of a boner, however, is the 1 in 1 billion max exposure probability, which is much worse than the other LG slots. Legion Gold Victory does build on previous Legion Gold slots, but if this was what the Roman army was fielding back in the day, there is no way it would have conquered anywhere near as much of the ancient world as it did.
Legion Gold Victory builds on previous Legion Gold slots, though not enough to prevent it from being another unimpressive release in the series.
