Max Megaways 3: Slot Overview
Australian-based provider Big Time Gaming has recalled its secret agent for duty to appear in a game that is 'Shaken, stirred, and stacked with coin-dropping action!', to use the developer's words. The coin-dropping action in this instance is made possible by the studio's Megadozer mechanic, which debuted in Bonanza Falls before popping up again in the 'okay, but kind of not' follow-up slot Danger High Voltage 2. Will it fare better in Max Megaways 3? The dozer is attached to various modifier-triggering properties like one of Q's gadgets, so how about we take a secretive wee look and see.
Spy novels and films are famous for sending readers and viewers to far-flung destinations, and the Max Megaways range is no exception. Released in 2022, the original Max Megaways took place on a secluded island before Max Megaways 2 sent players into space. In Max Megaways 3, we're back on Earth, presumably, where a snowy mountainous region is where the current villain does his or her plotting. This has come up before, but if these villains can afford to build high-tech lairs in such isolated locations, don't they have enough cash and clout to just chill out? Guess they wouldn't be villains if they weren't content with anything less than world domination. Fortunately, we've got heroes like Max Megaways to put a stop to their evil-doing.

Max Megaways 3 is played on a 6-reel gaming grid that lands 2 to 7 symbols on each reel. Utilizing the Megaways engine, ways to win vary, depending on the number of landed symbols, up to 117,649 when all reels have been filled. Several RTP configurations are available, so if you want the highest, that will be the 96.35% version. Math model volatility is 'very high' in all cases, and the stake range is 20 c to $/€8.
BTG looking 9 to A card ranks are Max Megaways 3's low pays, awarding 0.3x to 0.5x the stake when a 6 OAK win hits. Up from them are green, blue, red, and purple-coloured biohazard containers, paying 0.6x to 1x the bet for a 6 OAK hit. Wild symbols may land on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5, substituting any symbols except scatters.
Max Megaways 3: Slot Features

As well as a reaction system that removes and replaces winning symbols from above(not scatters), Max Megaways 3 has a modifier dropping Megadozer, free spins, and bonus buys.
Megadozer
The swinging back and forward Coin Dozer situated above the reels may drop in one or more Bonus Coins during any spin, including reactions. Bonus Coins in the base game can be either Gold or Silver. When a Gold Coin drops in, all reels are pushed to display the full 7 symbols each. Silver Coins trigger one of these bonuses:
- A win multiplier for the current spin increases by +1. All wins for the rest of the current spin are multiplied by the win multiplier.
- A low-pay symbol is revealed, and all instances on the reels are upgraded to a higher-paying symbol.
- A random symbol counting as multiple instances is added to the reel.
- Each symbol on a reel is replaced by wilds.
Free Spins
The game has 2 scatters: a regular Gold scatter and a Diamond Megascatter. Gold scatters appear on the leftmost and rightmost reel. Diamond Megascatters are present only on the rightmost reel. Hitting 2 scatters anywhere awards 10 free spins. If one of the triggering scatters is a Diamond, 15 free spins are awarded. Players get +2 extra free spins for each triggering scatter beyond the second. Once the round is activated, players open 2 doors to reveal modifiers:
- Bonus Wild - a wild is added to a reel, and it may have a multiplier of up to x10. Wins with a multiplier are multiplied.
- Multiplier Symbol - a random symbol is added to the reel, which counts as multiple instances, as shown. If the reel already displays 7 symbols this bonus has no effect.
- Increase Multiplier - increases the win multiplier by +1.
- Extra Spins - every third Extra Spins coin awards +2 free spins.
- Increase Ways - the reel increases to have 7 symbols. If it already has 7 symbols, no effect occurs.
During the round, the 2 revealed modifiers are delivered when the relevant Bonus Coins fall onto the grid. Free spins have an unlimited win multiplier starting at 1 and increasing after each reaction. Landing 2 scatter symbols awards a further +2 free spins, plus 2 free spins are granted for each additional scatter beyond the second.
Bonus Buy
Players can fast forward the mission to the bonus round by buying 10 free spins for 100x the bet or 15 free spins for 200x their bet. The RTP when buying the bonus round is 96.36%.

Max Megaways 3: Slot Verdict
Players may well have mixed feelings about the return of the Megadozer. It might be great for anyone who likes the arcade references, Meh-gadozer for the haters. Since this feature is so central to Max Megaways 3, it could end up being a make-or-break moment. Its inclusion didn't exactly cause Danger High Voltage 2 to shine any brighter, after all. The Megadozer felt more relevant to the rest of what Max Megaways 3 does than it did in DHV2, though. Perhaps titanically unmet expectations over the sequel to the beloved Danger High Voltage contributed to much of the negative response to the dozer effect in that game.
Whilst the mechanic is still unlikely to take over the world like a particularly successful supervillain, in Max Megaways 3, the dozer-dropping effect wasn't bad. During free spins, it helps deliver a similar set of modifiers as Bonanza Falls, with the addition of the Increase ways symbol. Dozing is available in the base game, too, which is no bad thing. It adds depth, especially since the features are not limited in number as they are in free spins. The overall gameplay fits the series quite well since the previous Max Megaways games were also all about base game bonuses and picking doors to reveal free spin bonuses. Just now the delivery system has been altered.
What hasn't been altered is the chance to tap into some serious winning potential, though Max Megaways 3 is the least impressive of the trio. Still, 86,800x in the base game and 101,830x in the bonus round are impressive numbers (on paper, at least) that help give the 'Max' part of the title extra heft while providing wannabe secret agents with a big round target to aim at.
The inclusion of the Megadozer might rattle some players, but Max Megaways 3 incorporates the mechanic into its arsenal of features quite well.
