Why only a score of 7? I utterly dislike slots with a "level up" mechanism like this. It messes up everything and comes at a cost. This is pretty much RG's version of Tombstone Slaughter, with way lesser max win, which obviously never turned out to be a fan favourite. I have never seen a MT release after the 1st that is this little discussed, especially now that BWB have way more members than back in MT1-3 days. But yeah, the biggest ooof for me is the big struggle to get onwards to the higher stations + them nasty spoilers that ruins the fun and exciting part for me, especially in the regular bonus round. You are simply too dependant on a high-number ticket (+4 / +5) to get there, which rarely happens. The gap between getting those high-number tickets and having a spoiler round is too big. What is a spoiler round? It's when a regular bonus round begins, you immediately see a pattern that this bonus will be a fail, and 99 out of 100, it stays true. For a slot of MT's status, that's too bad. For MT5, a spoiler round is when you get only a +1 / +2 ticket that is often accompanied with many 1x-symbols + often a regular sniper that is a waste of time. Another example is on FitH3 (NLC): When you start a 3-scatter bonus round, and you see waaay too many 3-5x dynamites + even a persistent dynamite, it always fails. Luckily, it does not occur that often on FitH3, but on MT5, it does happen way too often, sadly.I read the interview Daniel (BWB boss) had with Oscar Persson @ RG, where Oscar said this about feedback they have listened to: "...bonus rounds that could become a bit predictable." Unfortunately, they didn't remove that. They just changed it from the stupidly annoying adjacent payer/collector to the +1 / +2 ticket spoilers... That said, I was VERY delighted to see that they have removed those adjacent payer/collectors in MT5!Also, it seems like in order to make the Payer-symbol as good as it is in MT5, they completely nerfed the sniper! Heck, they made him even slower. Strange, but oh well.Ok, now the actual GOOD things about this slot! First off, as Oscar also mentioned in the interview, I agree that the base game has been vastly improved! This is the first MT release where doing vanilla spins is actually fun while being exciting at the same time! I was expecting them nuclear wilds to appear rarely, but nope! They drop more often than not, which was a very pleasant surprise. This makes MT5 playable for both buy-in and vanilla game players, which is obviously great and something has been missing in all of the previous releases. Something we definitely needed to have in place, and we got it! Can you get max win on vanilla spins? Nope, but it's still a big improvement compared to other MT releases.Secondly, the hype and excitement when you start to rack up the tickets + power symbols, is very real! The added extra power symbols makes it also more chaotic, in a good way. I also love that you are not dependant only on getting the Bomber to multiply all the symbols, as Ticket Master also does it. A mass multiplier, let alone a multi-multiplier, is a great addition and something we have lacked in previous games. As mentioned, they have removed the utterly stupid and pointless adjacent payer/collector, which is a nice plus. Another plus is that they have improved Arms Dealer! It works much better in MT5 vs. MT4 and converts often more symbols than it does in MT4. All in all in all, great adjustments with the power symbols.Another good thing is that they have added various "super charges" that I reckon are priced fairly. I wish they would have added something "between" station 1 and 15 option as well. It's either 1st station or 15th station.I must say that it's an interesting approach that they have 2 type of max wins: 100kx and 50kx. 100kx depends solely on the "ultra"-marked spins and buy-ins. Regular buy-ins are locked to 50kx max win, meaning the same max win as MT2 had.Who is this slot for? Vanilla spinners and high rollers, but not for regular buy-in players. 5x regular buy-ins (100x cost) = 1x super spin buy-in (500x cost), where you will be on the 2nd last station. Keep that in mind when you play this.My verdict: The main game mechanism, which is the "level up" system, is a big let down. I hope other providers learn that having this sort of "level up" doesn't work, because it comes at a cost of many other things, such as the frequent spoiler and predictable fail rounds. Still, MT5 offers a lot. You get the same old MT hype and excitement as soon as you reach the higher stations with power symbols in place. The fact that RG have put real effort to improve the vanilla spins is also something that lifts the score, hence why I land on a score of 7, the lowest in the series for me, but still something.MT-series has always been a personal favourite of mine (along with Mental + Fire in the Hole from NLC), so I felt that a review is worth it, since it's such an important series for quite many souls. And when I review, I only do it after I have tested a slot thoroughly with real money. So yeah, I have done a looot of vanilla spins, but mostly, I have done various buy-ins. That's why the long review.
