Neon Cash City Slot
Neon Cash City from developer Push Gaming takes a simple idea and builds almost the entire game around it: every regular symbol on the 8x8 grid carries its own cash value. Rather than relying on a traditional paytable, clusters of 5 or more matching symbols pay the combined values displayed on those symbols. It makes wins particularly easy to understand, while the large grid gives plenty of room for clusters to connect and subsequent cascades to keep a spin moving.
Winning symbols are removed after paying, allowing replacements to tumble into the empty positions. Jackpot Symbols add another possibility and come in colours corresponding to the different Cash symbols. When one forms part of a winning cluster of the same colour, it triggers the Jackpot Wheel, where fixed prizes range from the 5x Mini through to the 500x Mega. It's not an especially complicated setup, but the cash values being attached directly to the symbols give the game a slightly different identity from the usual Cluster Pays release.

Free Spins are triggered by landing 3 or more Scatters, with 10 spins awarded as standard. This is where Neon Cash City becomes considerably more interesting. Scatters collected during the bonus fill a Level Meter, and every 4 collected advances the feature by one level, awards another 2 spins and permanently removes one of the lower-value Cash symbols. Landing 4 or 5 Scatters when triggering the bonus gives the feature a head start by entering with one or two of these levels already completed. As more symbols disappear, the remaining grid becomes increasingly concentrated around the more valuable symbols.
A 65x bonus buy provides direct access to the feature where available. The standard game runs at 96.35% RTP, although lower configurations also exist. One point worth clarifying is the maximum-win figure: Push Gaming doesn't appear to state a conventional theoretical cap here. The highest observed win for the standard 96.35% configuration is 8,889x, while the larger 9,395.5x figure belongs to a different, considerably lower-RTP configuration.
Neon Cash City is a good example of a slot that doesn't need an enormous list of modifiers to be entertaining. The cash-paying clusters are straightforward but work well, and the Level Meter gives the Free Spins some genuine progression rather than simply repeating the base game for another 10 spins.
There are still a couple of areas where it feels like Push Gaming could have pushed things further. With an 8x8 grid and cascading wins, some form of escalating multiplier could have made longer sequences significantly more exciting, while an 8,889x highest observed win isn't enormous considering the size of the playing area. Even so, the underlying concept is different enough to stand out, the 96.35% RTP is respectable, and the increasingly valuable Free Spins give Neon Cash City enough substance to make it a fairly decent Cluster Pays release.
