Most symbols appearing on the reels are coins carrying different cash values. These values do not pay in the base game and instead become relevant during the hold&win bonus. Once the feature begins, any coins landing on the grid lock in place and contribute to the final payout.
A special sticky coin can also appear during the base game. These coins carry values between x5 and x9 the bet and remain locked on the reels until the hold&win feature is triggered. When the bonus begins, they transfer directly onto the grid. Sticky coins do not carry into purchased bonus rounds but will return to their position on the reels afterward until a natural trigger occurs.
The hold&win feature starts when three bonus symbols land on the central horizontal reel. Mystery symbols may also appear and reveal their value at the end of the round. These can transform into regular symbols or reveal one of the Mini, Minor or Major jackpots. Filling the entire 3x3 grid awards the Grand jackpot, while filling an expanded 3x5 grid awards the Royal jackpot. The game includes several bonus buy options. Piggy Surprise activates one to three random piggies for 30x the bet, Piggy Trio activates all three piggies for 60x the bet, and Piggy Frenzy activates all piggies with multipliers appearing every spin for 200x the bet.
Piggy Bank Hold & Win focuses almost entirely on its bonus feature and does not offer much outside of that structure. While the piggy modifiers add a few variations to the hold&win format, the overall design feels quite basic, and the relatively modest 2,500x maximum win makes it harder for the game to stand out in a genre already filled with similar titles.
