Serpent Gold Hold & Win by Octoplay has not been reviewed yet
Octoplay’s Serpent Gold: Hold & Win is an exclusive release and another entry in the growing list of Hold & Win-style slots with just enough unique touches to give it some staying power. The base game Golden Coin cluster system is a nice addition, and the fact that it can randomly trigger the Hold & Win feature helps keep things moving, rather than leaving all the excitement tucked away behind a rare bonus trigger. The snake modifiers during the bonus round, particularly the Collector and Clone snakes, do help ramp up the potential, and the 6x6 expanded grid gives players a fair bit of room to chase those higher-tier jackpots.
Still, there are a few downsides. The lack of a bonus buy will be a turn-off for some players, especially those who like more control over their gameplay sessions. And while the double chance mechanic is helpful, the RTP sits ever so slightly below the current average, which is something to keep in mind if you’re weighing up whether to give this one a go.
That said, Serpent Gold is well presented, with decent animation work and a satisfying balance between base game features and bonus action. It’s not a standout title that redefines the genre, but it does a decent job within the Hold & Win format, especially for players who enjoy steady progression, local jackpots, and an occasional surprise from a slithering serpent.
