Popular Twitch streamer Mizkif recently made public that he’s been offered a lucrative sponsorship for an online gambling website which would generate $10 million a year in exchange for promoting an online casino. Mizkif, however, decided to turn this offer down as it would have had too much of an impact on his personal life.

As with many of the big content creators on Twitch, it is not unusual to be offered life-changing deals. Mizkif himself stated that even though this offer from the unnamed gambling corporation ‘left him speechless’, it would not be the right deal to accept considering all the controversy around the topic.

With $10 million a year on offer in exchange for 15 hours a month of exposure, Mizkif admitted the deal was of course tempting given all the opportunities it would give to him and his family. During a live stream which took place on the 24th of April, he gave an explanation as to why the deal was turned down.

In an appearance made by Mizkif in the Youtube video ‘The Puppets of Online Gambling‘, he openly shared that he was given an offer to promote an online gambling website – a deal that would land him $35k an hour. However, he decided to turn this deal down, stating that it would have a negative effect on some of his more ‘impressionable’ viewers. “You guys look at us as people you look up to,” Mizkif said. “It just feels weird.”

Mizkif was later asked if he ever considered taking up on the offer, to which he responded that he did. “You have to understand that I am a human and that I am also f**king 27 years old. To see these numbers…I’ll be blunt with you. Did I think about and consider doing it? Yes, I did.

The Twitch streamer also explained that had the offer been agreed to, the funds received would not only have helped his family but others as well given he would have donated some of the money to charity. As well as his issues with promoting online gambling, Mizkif explained that another reason for turning down the sponsorship deal was it would have required him to make a big change in his lifestyle:

The biggest problem I had with it was I would have to move to Canada. I was like ‘I don’t want to go to Canada, I don’t want to be alone.’ I would never do it.”

The debate over the morals of influencers live streaming and promoting online gambling continues to rage in the streaming community. Mizkif, however, has once again made his standpoint on the issue perfectly clear.
