Unwishable: Slot Overview

It starts with someone getting emotional over a picture of a lamp, and given the slot's title, it's likely to be the sort of magic lamp that grants wishes. Stylistically, Unwishable has a monochrome Cuphead 1930s cartoon animation thing going on, also reminiscent of Hacksaw Gaming slots like SixSixSix or Pray For Six. The vocals, well, they're odd too, helping create a package that might not make complete sense at first, but which elevated curiosity to higher than usual levels from the get-go.

Plus and minus buttons in the bottom right corner may be used to select a stake of $/€0.10 to $/€60 a spin. Each round sees a 5x4 gaming grid spin, where there are 25 paylines evaluating winning combinations from the leftmost reel. Highly volatile, the RTP comes in at 95.79%.

Moving to the paytable, and forgive this if it is wrong, but it appears the high pays include Cleopatra, Genghis Khan, Shakespeare, Napoleon, and Marilyn Monroe, awarding 6x to 25x the bet for a 5 OAK winning combination. On the wish list are Eyeball symbols, an I Wish feature, xNudge wilds, Wishtrix Spins, Tick-Tap, super versions of the bonus rounds, boosters, and buys.

Eyeballs

When two Eyeballs land in the same spin, the game draws a rectangle between them and transforms every position inside that area into one large Wild. If only one Eyeball appears, it stays locked together with any winning symbols and triggers a respin to give you another chance to land the second one.

I Wish

The I Wish symbol, shown as a fist in a yellow circle, works as a regular Wild but immediately converts into one of several modifiers when it lands. It can become a multiplier up to x10, an xNudge Wild, a Respin, or an Eyeball.

xNudge Wild

The xNudge Wild is a tall hourglass symbol spanning four positions. If it lands partially visible, it nudges until it fills the entire reel, gaining +1 multiplier for each nudge step.

Free Spins

Hitting 3 bonus symbols in the base game lets you choose between two special modes.

• Wishtrix Spins gives 10 free spins with a higher chance of landing paired Eyeballs and more frequent I Wish activations. Landing one additional Bonus symbol upgrades the round to Super Wishtrix Spins, adding three spins and making any Wish a Wish symbols stick until the feature ends.
• Trinity.exe starts with 3 reveals on a 5x6 grid of 30 hidden prizes. The game uncovers positions randomly, revealing cash values, multipliers, mystery items, extra picks, or the rare Max Win tile worth 7,777x the bet. It's also possible to upgrade to Quadrix.exe. Unwishable: Slot Verdict

Some slots are difficult to pigeonhole, and Unwishable is one of them. It's weird, let's come right out and say it, but not necessarily weird in a negative way. Maybe eccentric is a better word, because Unwishable's oddities are not of the off-putting variety. Much about the game is just a little different from what is typically put forward in slots, such as the looks, sounds, and peculiar cast of characters. Ok, maybe most of it. Unwishable is a slot that makes you wonder what else is hiding up its sleeves, providing a push to see what its next possible trick might be, of which it has quite a few to deploy, both on loan from Nolimit City and those that sprang forth from the Sneaky Slot brainbox.

Once the novelty cooled a few degrees, a level of base game repetition did become more pronounced. Not a whole lot happened for sizable chunks of the time during that phase of play. There's no denying some interesting base game tools are available then, however, from the substituting, multiplying abilities of xNudge, to the wild spreading Eyeball symbols, to the I Wish modifiers, so lucky players are able to enjoy base game action when it's hitting. Activating the xNudge and the Eyeball from the Sneaky features section proved to be a much more exciting way to play the game, though not everyone will be down with doing so. Free spins improve the situation since features have an increased frequency, and super free spins are extra so due to the sticky Wish symbol. Pick fans should be all over the Tick-Tap phase, too, with plenty of wishable prizes to uncover, multiply, and mystery reveal.

This includes the chance of directly uncovering the max win, which comes in at 7,777x the bet. Overall, there are several ways curiosity may be rewarded while playing Unwishable; some are familiar, others are more out there. So while it might not crack a best-of list, Unwishable's unique presentation and unpredictability make it a memorable game.
