7 Lucky Gods: Slot Overview

If you've ever been stuck, undecided whether to choose the chocolate chip cookie or the blueberry muffin and just thought, what the heck and devoured them both, you might share some of software designer AvatarUX's YOLO spirit. The reason why is that it felt like the studio was unsure whether to make a carnival-themed 3x3 slot or an Asian-themed one, so instead decided to make both. To speed up the process, only the skin has been altered, meaning the Asian slot in question, 7 Lucky Gods, possesses all of the maths and features of the slightly earlier carnival release, King of Samba.

Since the studio didn't have to commit a lot of resources to the engine and gameplay, it has taken the time to paint a rather pretty Asian-inspired cultural picture. 7 Lucky Gods' graphical style is vaguely MonkeyPop-ish, the background image almost a piece of art in its depiction of a dragon boat, mountain, and stylish sky. Like King of Samba, royal symbols do not land on the 3x3, 5-payline grid, so there is no thematic dilution for players' eyes. Nor their ears either, so if this style of slot is of interest, 7 Lucky Gods isn't hard to behold.

Clicking on the coins button is how gamblers may choose a stake from a wide range of options starting at just 1 c and going up to $/€300 per spin. Unlike most of AvatarUX's work, 7 Lucky Gods is a base game spinning slot only, as there are no feature buys or ante bets this time around. Also somewhat unusual for an AvatarUX slot, 7 Lucky Gods is low volatile and low potential, though it has a socially acceptable in gambling circles, shall we say, default RTP of 96.16%.

If the characters on the symbols in 7 Lucky Gods are indeed 7 lucky gods, then 6 of them are displayed on the 6 regular pay symbols, while one appears on the wild symbol. Perhaps players familiar with the topic may be able to recognise them? The 6 pay symbols are only able to form wins of 3 OAK, and they have payout values of 1 to 3 times the bet. Wilds appear on all reels and substitute for all of the regular pay symbols. A line of 3 wilds pays 4 times the bet.

7 Lucky Gods: Slot Features

In fact, the features in 7 Lucky Gods are basically all tied to its wild symbols. The wilds are Walking Wilds, which appear on the top or middle row. Following a spin, Walking Wilds go down by one position until they vanish from the reels. Walking Wilds may appear with a multiplier value of x1, x2, x5, x10, up to x20. These multiplier values are additive if more than one of them is part of the same payline win.

Wild Spree

At random, a spin may have 9 Walking Wilds, each wild having a multiplier of x2 or higher.

7 Lucky Gods: Slot Verdict

Hey, 7 Lucky Gods is what it is, and a slot like this is going to have a tough time impressing gamblers who prefer and have gotten used to games with drool-worthy winning potential, complex gameplay, and white-hot features. 7 Lucky Gods goes in the opposite direction instead, being a small, easy-to-digest, mentally un-taxing game, though this is likely the point AvatarUX was trying to make. After all, the studio is more than capable of producing slots rammed with features, potential, and original subject matter. FloridaMan, LooneyPop, and Zombie aPOPalypse are three examples; the list is a long one. This means a certain frame of mind or a forgiving attitude, let's say, has to be adopted in order to see the positive side of 7 Lucky Gods, and it may well be a match for players who prefer small, easy-to-digest, mentally un-taxing games.

On the other hand, 7 Lucky Gods loses a few marks, being a reskin and all. King of Samba didn't exactly knock socks off the first time around, and neither did 7 Lucky Gods. Fair dues, it looks and sounds pleasant, but after clocking its clone status, the desire to give it a good test run and see what's what did dwindle. Mechanically, the same critique of King of Samba applies here, too. Relatively low symbol values are screaming out for as much wild multiplication as possible, while the Wild Spree injects a quasi-jackpot element. The max win is 1,200x, so while this figure and the gameplay 7 Lucky Gods comes with might be just right for some, AvatarUX's regular customers may find the whole thing just too darn teeny.

In Short

7 Lucky Gods is a forgettable reskin with low potential and basic gameplay, making it hard to recommend beyond the most casual of players.
