Cyber Heist: Slot Overview

Another day, another heist slot, this time it's an exclusive release (only available on selected casinos) from provider Pragmatic Play. This one, however, does not possess one of those dastardly rogues with a mask on his eyes, carrying a swag bag over his shoulder, wearing a black and white striped top. Just to repeat ourselves for clarity purposes, the same features that grace Wisdom of Athena return for Cyber Heist. These are a grid expansion element, multiplier symbols, free spins, and a bonus buy.

Grid Expansion

At the top of the active 6x5 grid is a row of positions displaying the numbers 1, 3, 6, 9, 12, and 15. Following the first tumble, the position on the leftmost reel is unlocked. Following this, when 3 more tumbles occur, the position on reel 2 is unlocked; when 6 more tumbles occur, the position on reel 3 is unlocked; when 9 more tumbles occur, the position on reel 4 unlocks; when 12 more tumbles occur the position on reel 5 unlocks, then when 15 more tumbles occur, the position on the rightmost reel unlocks. In the base game, the top positions are relocked between spins.

Multiplier Symbols

Multiplier symbols may land on any reels with a multipliers of x2 to x500. When a tumble run ends, the values of all multipliers in view are added together and applied to the win.

Free Spins

Players win 10 free spins plus a payout of 2x, 15x, or 100x the bet when landing 4, 5, or 6 scatter symbols, respectively. Free spins start with the top row of positions locked. Tumbles unlock positions as in the base game, but progress is saved throughout the round. The multiplier symbol feature is a bit different in free spins. Gates of Olympus has gone on to inspire or form the template for a ton of slots now, and the runaway train that is GOO and its offspring shows no signs of slowing down. We'd list them, but shoot, no one's got time for that. Suffice it to say there is a substantial number of these related slots, evidence of the success Pragmatic Play has garnered in the scatter-paying section of the industry.

Cyber Heist, like the previous slot Wisdom of Athena, is another example. The lethal combo of tumbles, scatters, and multipliers returns, joined by an expanding reel set dynamic. It's not the most exciting reel expansion system ever seen. Slowly, slowly, positions are unlocked one by one, and getting many of them open in the base game probably won't be a walk in the park. Good, then, that progress is persistent in free spins. Arguably, even better is the persistent, growable total multiplier. How effective the unlocking position feature actually is, though, is a question since Cyber Heist shares the same win cap as Wisdom of Athena and many others of its kind, at 5,000x the bet.

With that, we can add another branch to the Gates of Olympus family tree, a family that feels like it's growing bigger with each passing week. While there is nothing excitingly new in terms of features to test run in Cyber Heist, its noticeably higher than usual RTP might be enough to win itself a few converts.
