This is partly due to the fact that Caishen's Cash Pots is a remake of Triple Pot Gold, meaning more multipliers added to grid positions in order to increase Money symbol values. However, an extra pot has been added, which is no paradigm shift, but its modifier can boost those all-important position multipliers even further.

There's not much of interest to note about Caishen's Cash Pots' appearance. Its game world is a room full of treasure, coins, chests, etcetera, while the sounds include a classic Asian inspired tune. Caishen is joined by those two kids that pop up in Asian slots every so often, apparently known as Fortune Kids or Golden Children. They appear on two of the pay symbols, and don't really seem to do much else, though they bring a certain youthful exuberance to the game. For the rest, Caishen's Cash Pots is a thoroughly Asian themed slot. It is more interesting to look at and has more life to it than Triple Pot Gold, arguably less than Triple Pot Diamond, though beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that.

Wilds appear on the three middle reels, as well, where they substitute all regular paying symbols.

Money Symbol Collect

Money symbols land on reels 1-4 with values of 2x to 500x the bet whilst collect symbols only appear on the rightmost reel. When a Collect symbol hits, it awards the values of all Money symbols on the reels.

Scatters

Phoenix, Dragon, and Tiger scatters are present on all reels. When they land, they are collected in pots marked with their image above the grid. Randomly, when 1-3 scatters hit, free spins can trigger with a combination of 1-3 modifiers active, depending on the triggering scatters.

Free Spins

The bonus round starts with 6 free spins. During the feature, any Money symbols that land pay their values without the need for landing a Collect symbol. The pot symbol modifiers act like so:

• Phoenix - Multipliers of x2 and x3 are added to the two leftmost reels, respectively, in addition to any multipliers already present there. Multipliers added to the reels by all three modifiers multiply the value of Money symbols that hit on those reels.
• Dragon - Multipliers of x3, x5, and x3 are added to the three middle reels, respectively, in addition to any multipliers already present there.
• Tiger - Multipliers of x3 and x2 are added to the two rightmost reels in addition to any multipliers already present there.

During the bonus, Phoenix, Dragon, and Tiger scatters may hit and randomly trigger their feature and award +3 free spins. Modifiers which were not activated when the round started add their multipliers to their respective reels when they are randomly triggered in the feature. Moreover fish symbols can appear on any reel. When it hits during free spins, it is collected in the Fish pot above the reels. When one or more Fish are collected, at random, 3 to 6 positions on the grid get a random multiplier of x2-x5 to multiply the current multiplier in the position, and +3 spins are granted.

Special Bets and Feature Buys

An ante bet and Super Spin may be activated in the game. The ante bet costs 3x to make the chance of triggering free spins naturally 4 times higher. Super Spins cost 20x each, and on every spin, any number of pots may randomly trigger to add multipliers to the associated reels. If the Fish pot triggers, it adds 3-6 multipliers of x2-x5 to positions anywhere on the reels. Money symbols are collected without needing to land a Collect symbol, but free spins cannot trigger from a Super Spin.

Free spins can be bought, and there are two choices. At 100x the stake, the free spins round trigger with 1-3 active modifiers, while for 400x, the Super Spins feature can be bought where all 3 modifiers are active, and the Fish pot is guaranteed to trigger at least once, adding x2-x5 multipliers to all 15 positions.

Caishen's Cash Pots: Slot Verdict

If Pragmatic Play's strategy is to dominate the Asian pot section of the market through sheer saturation numbers, it's well on the way to doing so. As well as the previously mentioned games, the studio has also released Chests of Cai Shen and Chests of Cai Shen 2, as well as this. Fans of the form are absolutely spoiled for choice. It's the gift that just keeps giving, and giving and giving. Shame then that if this style of play isn't of specific interest, they've all been pretty mediocre so far. Caishen's Cash Pots doesn't break the trend either, delivering more or less the same sort of action, with an additional modifier on the side.

Fair enough, though, you can see how targeted gamblers could still enjoy this sort of thing. Collecting Money symbols without needing a Collect symbol might be enjoyable, and it gets better when a massive multiplier just happens to be embedded in the right position when doing so. Speaking of massive, theoretically speaking, the maximum position multiplier value is x100,000, which would be ludicrous in real life. A tad overkill, it could be said, given the win cap is 10,000x the bet, but the position multiplier cap is indicative of the Fish modifier's potential. Keeping in mind the biggest Fish multiplier value is x5, so lucky players might need to stack a lot of them to really push the game to its limits.

To sum up, Caishen's Cash Pots no doubt has the ability to give enthusiasts of this style more of what they want, yet it is another unremarkable slot. The Fish twist is a good one, but it also feels like more of the same in many ways, rather than a daring leap into the unexplored. However, that's probably a good thing for fans, who get another round of pot-triggered position multiplier action, draped in a cosy setting with a new multiplier boost to investigate.
