Cash in Transit: Slot Overview
In slots as in life, when you hit pay dirt you gotta be hitting it again and again. And again. That would appear to be the thinking at Relax Gaming, which struck it big, really big, with its Money Train series. Spinning off of Money Train came a slew of Money Cart slots, which drastically streamlined the base game in order to launch players into the bonus round at a greater frequency. They were an option for players who didn't have access to feature buys, say, UK gamblers, to hasten the journey to the hold 'n' win. Catering even closer to home, Relax Gaming has released Cash in Transit, a version of Money Cart 3, but a crime-themed edition, set on the British streets.

Cash in Transit's grid has been slapped up against the back of a van as it sits parked on the streets of London. One would presume this is the getaway vehicle, idling while accomplices perform the smash-and-grab before piling in and zipping away to a hiding spot. There's not a train in sight in this game, though London is famous for having an underground network. In saying that, less than half of the London Underground these days is actually above ground. So, instead of trains, Cash in Transit is a cops 'n' robbers game of dastardly criminals and brave lawmen.
Cash in Transit is a high volatile slot that takes bets of 10 c to $/€100 per spin and comes shipped with 96% RTP. The slot is split between a base game where only blank spaces or bonus-related symbols may land on its 5x4 game area and a hold 'n' respin bonus round. Special symbols contribute to triggering the respins feature.
Cash in Transit: Slot Features

Landing 3 or more bonus symbols triggers the respins round where 3 respins are awarded. Landing any new symbol resets the count back to 3. When a reel fills with symbols, an additional reel opens up. This can occur twice. During the game round, it is possible to land these symbols, which stick to the reels:
- Cash Bag - reveals a value of 1 to 10 coins.
- Bag Man - collects all values in view and adds them to its own value.
- Bag Man/Money Man - selects 3 to 5 symbols, adds their values to its own and pays out the updated value to each of the targeted symbols.
- Lock Smith - doubles the value of 3 to 8 other symbols. Can act on the same symbol more than once.
- Gov'Nor - brings 2 to 7 used non-persistent symbols to life again (Bag Man, Bag Man/Money Man, Lock Smith, Detective, or Constable). Can act on the same symbol more than once.
- Pawn Broker - gathers all cash bags and removes them from the reels, including other Pawn Brokers, freeing up space on the reels. Feature symbols remain on the reels.
- Detective - selects a random symbol and doubles its value 2 to 6 times.
- Constable - reveals a coin value of 5 to 100, then adds the revealed value 3 to 10 times to a random symbol.
- Persistent Bag Man - collects all values in view and adds them to its own value at the end of the spin and all following spins. Does not collect its own value.
- Persistent Lock Smith - doubles the value of 3 to 8 other symbols at the end of the spin and all following spins. Can act on the same symbol more than once.
- Persistent Bag Man/Money Man - selects 3 to 5 symbols at the end of each spin, then adds their values to its own and pays out the updated value to each of the targeted symbols.
- Persistent Gov'Nor - brings 1 to 7 already used non-persistent special symbols to life again (Bag Man, Bag Man/Money Man, Lock Smith, Detective, or Constable). Can act on the same symbol more than once.
- Persistent Attack Dog - turns into a different special symbol after every spin (Bag Man, Bag Man/Money Man, Lock Smith, Detective, or Constable).

Cash in Transit: Slot Verdict
It's funny, a while back, a new Money Train or Money Cart slot was big news; now, eh, not so much. If Relax Gaming went back to the drawing board to craft Money Train 5 it would possibly be their best shot at saving a studio that is in free fall currently. However, Relax Gaming seems more concerned with firing out Dream Drop releases in between slots that, in general, just haven't been very impressive for a while. Cash in Transit is another one which didn't generate much excitement. Having said that, it's not without its moments. The cops 'n' robbers theme has carved out its own space in the online slot biz, and it can be fun when not taken too seriously. However, Cash in Transit's presentation didn't have anywhere near the same screen presence as a 1,000-ton train covered in skulls and pipes.
Ah well, a different angle it is and who knows? Maybe non-train folk will prefer the law-breaking approach as they attempt to make their way into the series' famous hold 'n' win round. Once in, well, there's just no telling what's going to happen. A round could be a cash bag only session; it might be one that drops several special symbols which play off of each other to a rising crescendo. Such is the breadth of experiences Money Train/Money Cart slots are able to pull off. Again, persistent symbols are everything; get a few of those interacting, and it's just good stuff.
A quick word on winning potential. Where the game touts wins of up to 100,000, this is measured in coins. Since a coin is worth 0.1 of the stake, the max win in this slot is 10,000x the bet. All in all, Cash in Transit provides an alternative way to have the Money Cart experience, however, it just didn't have the same level of punch as its train-themed cousins.
Bigwinboard Summary
Cash in Transit offers a cops ‘n’ robbers twist on the Money Cart formula, but its recycling status and repetitive gameplay struggle to capture the same excitement as its train-themed predecessors.
