Devil's Boulevard: Slot Overview

One of the Games Global family of studios' favourite mechanics, Link&Win, has been rolled out to power another one of its online slots. This one has been designed by software provider Foxium and has links to at least two of the developer's previous releases. Titled Devil's Boulevard, it is something of a follow-up to Devil's Hot Pots, while also serving as a reskin of Andvari the Fortune Chill. This means a trio of Link&Win bonus rounds to trigger, jackpots, and custom landscape choice, presented in a devilish, friendly devilish, casing.

The theme is a little hard to decipher. The base game looks like a film set, or red carpet event, maybe in Hollywood, Cannes, or out the front of Mt Fuji, who knows? Take your pick. The three bonus round settings whisk players away to very diverse places as well, from lava and rocks, to a gated grotto-type place, to an airy up in the clouds spot. Maybe Devil's Boulevard is some sort of commentary on selling your soul for fame and glory? Don't know, hard to say. Anyway, the three devils all perform the floss at certain points, which is a carryover from Devil's Hot Pots and is funny to see. The atmosphere is a little confusing, but light and breezy enough to keep wafting along to see what may unfold.

Devil's Boulevard slot
Devil's Boulevard slot - base game

Devil's Boulevard is a 5-reel slot, with 4 rows and 40 paylines. The one way to play is staking from $/€0.20 to $/€25 per base game spin, which comes with an RTP of 96.36%, though lower returns are possible depending on the configuration. The math model is medium volatile.

Hitting 5 matching low pay J-A royals awards 1.5x to 2x the bet, whereas 2.5x to 10x is paid when landing 5 matching dollar signs, dice, bells, sevens, or red diamonds. Wilds hit on all reels, substituting anything except coins or collect symbols. Wilds pay 25x when 5 of them make a winning line.

Devil's Boulevard: Slot Features

Devil's Boulevard slot - collect feature

Devil's Boulevard has a collect feature, jackpots, three bonus games, and a wheel of odds perk dispenser.

Collect Feature

When a collect symbol lands on the rightmost reel in the base game, the value of all coins on the reels is awarded. Coins have a value of 0.5x to 50x the stake. There are three types of coins, each linked to a devil collection point above the reels.

Jackpots

Each time a jackpot token lands in the base game, it randomly increases one of the jackpots' values by 0.5x. During bonus games, Bonus Jackpot tokens are collected by their corresponding jackpot. Prizes up for grabs are the 10x-20x Mini, 30x-50x Minor, 250x-500x Major, and the 5,000x-10,000x Grand. Collecting enough tokens awards the relevant prize.

Bonus Games

Bonus games can be triggered when a coin is collected by its respective devil. When triggered, before entering the bonus round, players pick a custom stage - Cloud Nine, Flaming Hollow, or Golden Gates to play in. Next, the wheel of odds spins, which may award a bonus perk depending on the custom stage that was picked. The Cloud Nine wheel can grant an extra spin that increases the reset value of spins by 1. Flaming Hollow can grant a jackpot maximiser, which increases the bonus game jackpots to their maximum values - only in the bonus game. Golden Gates can award an extra Bonus Jackpot token that increases the chance of winning one of the jackpots.

Double Boom Bonus Game

This bonus has 3 spins played on two grids. When a green coin or bomb is locked when landing, the spins counter resets. There is a chance of landing a special bomb symbol during the bonus game, triggering the Tick, Tick, Boom! feature. When this occurs, 4 random green coins are increased in value. Or all coins, if fewer than four are on the reels.

Multi Fever Bonus Game

On every spin, a random multiplier of x2-x5 is awarded. 3 spins are awarded, which reset when a red coin locks upon landing.

Divine Locks Bonus Game

This bonus also awards 3 spins that reset when a blue coin locks upon landing. Collecting 8, 12, 16, or 20 blue coins unlocks 1, 2, 3, or 4 extra rows.

Devil's Boulevard: Slot Verdict

Devil's Boulevard offers no surprises for seasoned Link&Win players. Especially if you've had the chance to play Andvari the Fortune Chill, then Devil's Boulevard is basically a straight repeat. Was a decision made to baffle players with an odd theme in order to distract them from Fortune Chill's mechanics? Maybe, maybe not, but Devil's Boulevard is an easily playable version of a mechanic that continues to prove popular. And even though three devils populate the game, they're devils of the non-terrifying variety, so the innocuous levels run high enough to ensure anyone picking this slot feels cosy rather than confronted by anything diabolically intense.

Can't really be calling the gameplay very intense either. Like the slot it came from, Devil's Boulevard eases gamblers into a session of coin collection and Link&Win streak respin style action, with some modifying going on, though a fairly minimalist amount. The wheel of odds adds a dash of suspense, but it is also kind of sad when the wheel blows past the bonus perk. As for which custom stage to go for, arguably the best choice for gamblers chasing Devil's Boulevard 10,000x max win is Flaming Hollow since it is able to bestow the jackpot maximiser bonus perk, pushing all jackpots to their fullest capacity. Unless the jackpots have already maxed out, that is.

Devil's Boulevard feels less like a new release and more like another coat of paint on the familiar Link&Win template. The underlying engine hasn't meaningfully evolved, and beyond the devil-themed dressing and local jackpots, there's little here that distinguishes it from the long list of similar titles already on the market. If you already enjoy this format, you'll know exactly what you're getting. For everyone else, there's no compelling reason to chase it down.

Bigwinboard Summary

Devil's Boulevard repackages familiar Link&Win mechanics in a quirky devil theme, delivering dependable but thoroughly recycled gameplay that offers little beyond what players have already seen.
