Duck Hunters Happy Hour: Slot Overview
Fresh off winning Game of the Year at Bigwinboard Awards 2025 with Duck Hunters, developer Nolimit City (who also happened to win Best Innovator) starts off its 2026 campaign with Duck Hunters Happy Hour. A shrewd move, striking while the iron is hot and all that, and fans who savoured the original's Sugar Rush multiplier mayhem on performance-enhancing substances should be chomping at the bit to get their hands on the follow-up. Players who find themselves in this enthusiastic group can hopefully appreciate that evolution is sometimes a slow process, because Duck Hunters Happy Hour is more of a re-release type event than a sequel, which charts bizarre new territory.
As for game world territory, Duck Hunters Happy Hour finds itself in the back garden, where a BBQ sizzles and brewskis are kept ice cold in a bucket. As before, the vibe is good 'ol boy, where the US of A reigns supreme and all is right with the world. Um, y'all. It's all done in jest, right? All a bit of fun, and as the game docs remind those who need an excuse to party, 'it's 5 o'clock somewhere. '

One of the obvious changes in Duck Hunters Happy Hour is that the gaming area has been rearranged into a 4-5-6-6-5-4 pattern, though the same number of symbol positions remain. This means the same amount of space is provided to land to create a scatter paying win. The RTP has been pushed up slightly to 96.07% on the highest option, while the volatility stays high. Gamblers may stake $/€0.20 to $/€100, with a sizable selection of boosters and feature buys here, too.
The symbols players will find on the hunt are, from bottom up, cans, bottles, cocktails, eggs, ducks, and then four characters. Hitting 8-9 OAK pays 0.1x to 0.3x, up to 1x to 5x for landing 12+ OAK. Wild symbols substitute for any regular paying symbol.
Duck Hunters Happy Hour: Slot Features

Duck Hunters Happy Hour's arsenal includes scatter wins, position multipliers, xWays, Infections xWays, Bombs, three free spins bonus rounds, Nolimit Boosters, and Nolimit Bonus buys.
Scatter Wins
Winning combinations are created when 8 or more matching symbols land anywhere in the reel area. Winning symbols get removed, triggering a drop to refill the grid. A multiplier of x2 is added to each position where a symbol was removed. If a position multiplier was already there, and that position gets a win on the next drop, its multiplier is doubled, up to x8,192.
xWays and Infectious xWays
xWays symbols transform into a regular paying symbol and increase the position multiplier by 2, 4, or 8 times. The Infectious xWays symbols do the same thing, but the revealed symbol infects all of the other same symbols on the reels. If more than one xWays or Infectious xWays land, then all of those symbols transform into the same symbol.
Bomb
An exploding Bomb removes all paying symbols adjacent to its position. Multipliers get doubled on positions affected by the Bomb. After this, it reveals a random symbol, which could be a mid pay symbol, wild, Infectious xWays or another Bomb. If more than one Bomb appears, their random symbols are revealed after all bombs have exploded. Wilds and scatters are not affected.

Free Spins
Landing 3, 4, or 5 scatters triggers 7 Duck Hunt Spins, or 8 Hawk Eye Spins, or 10 Big Game Spins, respectively.
- Duck Hunt Spins - Position multipliers are kept during free spins. Landing an Extra +1 Shot symbol awards +1 free spin. During this feature 1 of the following 3 upgrades is randomly granted: Upgraded Bomb, which behaves like a regular Bomb but doesn't reveal mid pay symbols. Upgraded xWays, meaning xWays are replaced by Infectious xWays. Extra +2 Shots replace the Extra +1 Shot and grant +2 free spins.
- Hawk Eye Spins - The same as Duck Hunt Spin, but 2 upgrades are awarded.
- Big Game Spins - The same as Hawk Eye Spins, but all 3 upgrades are awarded.
Extra Spin
Players may get the chance to buy an additional spin when a free spins round ends. The additional spin keeps the position multipliers of the previous spin. The cost of the extra spin is calculated based on the position multipliers. An extra spin is not offered if the cost is greater than the win. Scatters do not land on the extra spin.
Nolimit Boosters & Feature Buys
Boosters in the game are the Bonus Booster at 2x, making it 5 times more likely to trigger free spins. Then there are Day 8 Spins or Day 64 Spins costing 10x or 90x the bet, where the initial multiplier value of all positions is x8 or x64, respectively. Lastly, Happy Hour Spins cost 3,000x, where the initial multiplier value on all positions is x8, and the middle two reels are guaranteed to be filled with Bombs on the initial drop. The four feature buys are 7 Duck Hunt Spins, 8 Hawk Eye Spins, 10 Big Game Spins, or a lucky draw for 70x, 200x, 600x, or 235x the stake, respectively.

Duck Hunters Happy Hour: Slot Verdict
To be honest, the expectation was that there would be more of a difference between Duck Hunters and Duck Hunters Happy Hour. The altered gaming area reinforced this feeling until a look over the paytable made it clear that a good chunk of the features had remained intact and largely unaltered. Nolimit City has built a reputation as being a creative powerhouse, effortlessly wafting from prison yard to cult and beyond. With Duck Hunters Happy Hour, the studio seems to have gone for a victory lap rather than push deep for major reinvention. This makes Duck Hunters Happy Hour feel less like a sequel and closer to a director's cut, as it offers round two on the explosive multiplier mechanics seen in the previous release.
That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it may disappoint players who had been hoping for greater originality. Duck Hunters Happy Hour still delivers the same kind of progressive chaos which made the previous one so memorable. Position multipliers spiralling out of control, Infectious xWays invading the screen, and Bombs detonating across the grid are equally capable of creating moments of genuine exhilaration, in classic Nolimit City fashion. One of the key changes is the Bomb, which now reveals a new symbol, possibly another Bomb, rather than just exploding; that is admittedly a neat touch. Statistically, at 33,333x the bet, Duck Hunters Happy Hour offers greater winning potential, while keeping in mind it is less likely to hit the max win, and less likely to trigger the bonus round than before.
Duck Hunters Happy Hour is a good game, no doubt, but kind of weird too, being closer to Duck Hunters 1.2 than a full-blown sequel. Fans of the original should find plenty to like, while newcomers get a wild entry into Nolimit City's version of Sugar Rush. Maybe don't come expecting the rule book to be torn up and discarded, as Duck Hunters Happy Hour seems happy enough hammering down on what already worked.
Duck Hunters Happy Hour doubles down on the chaos that made the original shine, delivering bigger numbers and familiar mayhem, but it plays more like a refined remix than a true sequel.
