The team at Hacksaw Gaming has been good enough to provide us with an exclusive peek at their upcoming video slot titled Wanted Dead or a Wild. Hacksaw has also passed on plenty of early info, and there are several things we can further deduce from the clip.

A rattlesnake of a soundtrack fires up first, leaving no doubt where the studio is taking us this time. Yep, Wanted Dead or a Wild gives players an excuse to iron out the creases on those leather chaps for a trip back to the good ole Wild West. Many developers tour this part of the world sooner or later, so it will be interesting to see how Hacksaw merges it with their individual style.

Graphically, Hacksaw Gaming has abandoned their usual light-hearted visuals to reveal a grittier facet of their personality. The quality remains characteristically high, alternating between views of parched desert landscapes and creepy cemetery scenes from the back of a train. There is plenty of room for gunfights in there, too – the Western theme does tend to bring out a studio’s macho side.

From a mechanical standpoint, Wanted Dead or a Wild is officially classed as a 5×5 grid slot, employing a cluster pays system. This is a format Hacksaw has really taken to, producing a consistent stream of highly playable examples. However, on the clip, it actually looks like a connecting ways thing might be going on instead of clusters, or maybe even paylines in the style of Toshi Video Club.

We can only speculate as to the full nature of the features, but we do get a taste of sticky wilds during a Great Train Robbery bonus, some sort of bet multiplier collection perhaps titled Dead Man’s Hand, as well as Duel at Dawn full reel wild multipliers. As mentioned, full paytable information isn’t available just yet, but there is plenty here to whet appetites and get imaginations flowing.

What we do know is when everything’s panning out advantageously, wins of up to 12,500x the bet is on the cards. This makes Wanted Dead or a Wild one of Hacksaw’s higher-paying non-jackpot slots, so if the rest of the game plays out half as well as its honky-tonk soundtrack and unique looks, players should be in for a real Old West thrill ride.
