Fang City: Slot Overview

The game lives in a built-up urban zone of the near-distant future, a little bit like Night City from Cyberpunk 2077, but without all the gonks and chooms. Why are there wolves? How did they take over from the humans? It's almost impossible to say. The only clue provided by the game info is that Fang City is 'where the night is alive with mystery and fortune', so let your mind flow freely if you plan on solving the riddle. But wolves are as relevant as any other animal, and Push Gaming has dropped them into a slot that does look and sound good.

Fang City is a scatter-paying slot, so winning combinations are formed when at least 7 matching symbols are in view anywhere on the 6x5 gaming area. Winning symbols are cleared, and a drop takes place to fill all of the vacant reel positions. Cascading repeats as long as wins form after a drop. From 10 c to $/€100 may be wagered on each spin, where the volatility is medium, and the top RTP comes in at 96.33%. Turing on the Push Bet raises the stake by 20% to increase the chance of winning the feature.

The pay symbols are four coloured fangs, metal claws, a grenade, a mask, and three wolf character symbols. Mystery Moon Symbols

Hitting 7 Moon and/or Mystery Moon symbols triggers the reveal feature. The Mystery Moon symbol can reveal the following:

• Convertor - converts one pay symbol type on the reels into Moon symbols with a chance for new Mystery Moon symbols.
• Collector - collects the values of all other Moon symbols and allows them to spin again for new Instant Prizes or new Moon Reveal symbols. Collectors also collect the values from previous Collector symbols, though they will not spin again.
• Moon Multiplier - multiplies the values of Instant Prizes and Collector symbols by x2 to x100. Multiplier symbols spin again to reveal a Moon or new Mystery Moon symbols.
• High Value Moon - has a value of at least 10x the bet.
• Max Win - awards the game's max win, ending the round.

Free Spins

Landing 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters awards 8 free spins with a global multiplier starting at x1, x2, x5, or x10, respectively. When a Multiplier symbol lands at the same time as a win, its value is added to the global multiplier, which gets applied to the win at the end of the spin. The global multiplier's value is persistent and does not reset until returning to the base game. The global multiplier will only boost a win if a new multiplier symbol also lands on the spin. Fang City: Slot Verdict

Back in the day, and those days feel like they're drifting further and further back into the mists of time, a Push Gaming release was big news. How was the studio going to shock the gambling community and have its more timid members running for the hills to hide this time? That might be an exaggeration, but of late, the buzz of reviewing a new monster Push Gaming release has often been conspicuously absent. There are a variety of reasons; one is a lack, or should that be, a lowering of the wild originality the studio used to possess. Not saying it's totally lacking these days, but like a torch with a battery which is running out of juice, the beam of light cutting through the darkness has dimmed.

Now that the old timer has finished shedding a tear over the 'good old days', on with the Fang City show and not a bad one it is either. It arguably owes some of its success to the likes of Sweet Bonanza 1000 and Gates of Olympus 1000 due to the scatter wins, cascade, and multiplier symbol fusion. This is a combination of features which has been extensively used in the past and will very likely continue to do so into the future. On top of these entertaining bones, Push Gaming has layered some of its own bespoke magic in the form of Instant Prize Moons and the reveal feature, made popular in slots like Big Bamboo and Razor Returns. Maybe not a totally brand new invention then, but adding these types of effects substantially beefs up the experience, providing a strong incentive for scatter pays players to choose Fang City over its contemporaries.

As far as slots that follow a path laid down by Pragmatic Play's mega-popular contributions to the scatter-paying form go, Fang City is one of the better examples. It gets the basics right while stacking them with entertaining Push Gaming-flavoured extras and a burly max win of 10,000x the bet.
