Fist of Destruction Megamultiplier: Slot Overview
Instead of relying on volatile innovation to shock players on each new release as in the old days, Hacksaw Gaming has found new, less exhausting ways of fattening up its portfolio and staying in the limelight. The particular method under review here is the studio's new Megamultiplier concept, which it has used to reboot the physically dominating Fist of Destruction slot. The result is Fist of Destruction Megamultiplier, a game which keeps practically every feature from its predecessor, then makes some technical adjustments, and adds in an instant max win feature to go with a couple of new bonus rounds.
Little has changed on the artistic side of things. Fist of Destruction Megamultiplier keeps the urban setting of its predecessor and populates it with the same four fighters. As before, users can change which two combatants appear on the screen, keeping in mind this does not alter what happens on the grid. All are toned and ready to tear their opponent limb from limb, which is good, since Fist symbols are one of the game's central features. There is a slight change to the optics when the Megamultiplier bonus rounds are in play, but it might have been nice if Hacksaw Gaming mixed things up even further, maybe dropping in some new fighters to freshen the place up.

One of the changes Hacksaw Gaming has made is tuning the math model up to the full 5 out of 5 rating, making it more volatile than the previous game. RTP is slightly lower at 96.23%, and the bet range has been tightened to $/€0.10 to $/€50, reflecting an increase in winning potential. A 5x4 grid is the ring in which Fist of Destruction Megamultiplier performs, where 14 paylines evaluate winning combinations.
Winning combinations are formed by 9 different pay symbols. They are 10-A card ranks, and 4 Fighter high pay symbols. Landing a winning line of 5 matching low pays awards 2x the bet, or 5x-10x the bet for 5 matching Fighters. Wilds are present on every reel, substituting any regular pay symbols. A line of 5 wilds pays 10x the bet.
Fist of Destruction Megamultiplier: Slot Features

Fist of Destruction Megamultiplier's features are Fist Symbol Wild Reels, the Megamultiplier symbol, Throwdown! Bonus, Throwdown! Megamultiplier Bonus, Ultimate Throwdown Bonus, Ultimate Throwdown! Megamultiplier Bonus, and feature buys.
Fist Symbol Wild Reels
When a Fist symbol hits, it expands into a Wild Reel from its position to the top of the reel if it would be part of at least one winning combination once expanded. Fist Wild Reels substitute for all paying symbols. Fist symbols are either Red or Blue, belonging to the Red or Blue team. If a Fist symbol passes through a Fighter symbol of the opposite team or a wild symbol, a multiplier of x2 to x200 is added to the Wild Reel. The multiplier applies to each win it is part of. If the Fist symbol passes through more than one Fighter symbol, the multipliers are added together, then applied to the win. If wins include more than one Fist Wild Reel, multipliers are added before being applied. One Fist symbol can land per reel
Megamultiplier Symbols
Megamultiplier symbols land on the leftmost, middle, and rightmost reels in the base game and during BonusHunt FeatureSpins. Hitting 3 Megamultiplier symbols instantly awards the max win.
Throwdown! Bonus
Landing 3 scatter symbols in the base game triggers 10 free spins in the Throwdown! Bonus. The Throwdown! Bonus has the same rules as the base game. In addition, the Red and Blue teams battle each other to increase their Victory Level. Each team starts with a Victory Level of 3+. Each time a Fist symbol punches a Fighter of the opposing team or a wild symbol, the Fist's team gains 1 Victory Point. When the team has collected 3 Victory Points, a respin with an Epic Drop is awarded, and the winning team's Victory Level increases by 1. The number of Fist symbols guaranteed to land on an Epic Drop depends on the Victory Level of the team. At Level 3+, 4+ or 5+, at least 3, 4, or 5 Fist symbols of the winning team's colour are guaranteed to land on the Epic Drop. Fists landing on Epic Drops do not count towards increasing the Victory Level. During all free spins rounds, landing 2 scatters awards +2 extra spins, or 3 scatter symbols award +4 extra spins.
Throwdown! Megamultiplier Bonus
Landing 3 scatters and 1 Megamultiplier symbol in the main game triggers the Throwdown! Megamultiplier Bonus and 10 free spins. This bonus uses the rules of the Throwdown! Bonus, with the addition of a Global Megamultiplier displayed outside the grid. The Global Megamultiplier has a random value of x2-x10 per spin. At the end of the spin, all wins are multiplied by the Global Megamultiplier.
Ultimate Throwdown! Bonus
Landing 4 scatters in the base game triggers 10 spins in the Ultimate Throwdown! Bonus. This bonus is the same as the Throwdown! Bonus, except each team starts at Victory Level 4+.
Ultimate Throwdown! Megamultiplier Bonus
Landing 4 scatters and a Megamultiplier symbol in the main game triggers the Ultimate Throwdown! Megamultiplier Bonus and 10 free spins. It keeps the mechanics of the Ultimate Throwdown! Bonus but multiples the win on each spin by x2-x10.
Feature Buys
Fist of Destruction has BonusHunt FeatureSpins making each spin 5 times more likely to trigger one of the bonus games for 3x the bet, Uppercut FeatureSpins guaranteeing at least 3 Fist symbols land for 50x the bet, and Epic Drop FeatureSpins guaranteeing at least 4 Fist symbols land for 250x the bet. The Throwdown! Bonus can be bought for 110x or the Ultimate Throwdown! Bonus for 275x the bet.

Fist of Destruction Megamultiplier: Slot Verdict
Fist of Destruction Megamultiplier is the first slot to function as a medium for Hacksaw Gaming's new Megamultiplier feature. In some ways it's similar to Pragmatic Play's Super Scatter feature, though it does a few more things besides awarding the max win in the base game. Just as Prag has used the Super Scatter to rerelease a number of titles in its portfolio such as Sugar Rush Super Scatter and Starlight Princess Super Scatter, the assumption is Hacksaw Gaming will do the same; pick a few older titles and blow the dust off them with a Megamultiplier makeover. Okay, it's a tactic, not an especially innovative tactic, but it squeezes more blood out of the back catalogue, while adding juice to the chosen slots.
Fist of Destruction was already a solid title, and the new Megamultiplier makes it a beefier experience in several ways. Tension is added to the base game knowing the 15,000x max win can fall from the sky at any moment - that's 5,000x greater than the original, btw, and who can say no to a global multiplier increasing wins in bonus rounds? Hacksaw Gaming may have rejigged bits from here and there to rebalance the scales, and Fist of Destruction Megamultiplier is a more volatile slot, so the experience may be more jagged than the previous one. Outside the Megamultiplier elements, it's business as usual in Fist of Destruction Megamultiplier, meaning punching foes and wilds to make expanded wild multipliers, with the potentially thrilling Epic Drops punctuating bonus rounds.
If you liked the original Fist of Destruction, this update doesn't reinvent much, but it keeps the core grit and mechanics intact while adding additional elements for a possible injection of adrenaline. The max win is up, volatility is up, so the game possesses more of an edge. Whether we really needed a Fist of Destruction reboot is a debate for another day, but the Megamultiplier has been let loose now, and chances seem good that we're going to see it again in other remakes.
Fist of Destruction Megamultiplier gives an already solid slot a worthwhile shot of adrenaline, even if the remake itself feels more evolutionary than essential.
