Push Gaming and Blueprint in argument over Dragonfall

As many had suspected, Push Gaming were not too happy over Blueprint's Jammin' Jars clone Dragonfall. It appears the slot has been pulled from all GiG platform casinos and when asked about the game we received the following reply: "Unfortunately, the release date has been postponed until further notice and we haven't received an update for the new release day yet." In other words, it seems likely that Push Gaming has put some pressure on GiG to revoke the Dragonfall slot.

I have been in touch with both Blueprint and Push Gaming, and while both confirm that there's indeed an ongoing dispute, both sides have declined to make further comments.

Interesting. Just my opinion, but I don't think Push has much grounds for their dispute. I know that in terms of game mechanics, it is nearly impossible to protect them. However, if you clone a mechanic and the clone is visually similar to the original, then I think there is grounds to claim infringement. I believe this is how NetEnt got PnG to change their Starblast game which was visually, mechanically and in name very close to Starburst. You can't really say that players are going to mistake Dragonfall for Jammin Jars when they browse the game pages.

Strange that GiG would take sides in a provider dispute. It's not hard to find the game at other casinos, so I would guess that means there was nothing forcing them to take down the game legally...

@krasnaya7 you're most likely right that there's little Push Gaming can do to stop Blueprint legally. Visually the game has more in common with Dragon's Fire than Jammin' Jars and mechanically, unless they used the exact same mathematical model, it's not a copy. Morally speaking, however, not the coolest thing to do imo. I'm still not happy with Blueprint using the name Big Win Board for their leaderboard either I should mention.

I dunno why GiG took Push Gaming's side here, but it's possible that Relax Gaming is somehow involved as well. It's not the first time I've seen developers use this as a weapon against other developers. I know for a fact both NetEnt and Big Time Gaming have done it.
