Whilst a decent game in its own right, the previous similar upgrade, Gates of Olympus 1000, was a clone which didn't add an enormous amount to what was already available. Yes, the multiplier range was broader, the winning potential greater, but it was hardly a slot that the development team brainstormed wild ideas for before getting down to business of designing a shocking new release. Gates of Olympus 2500 isn't like that. Sure, the multiplier range is even greater now, maxing out at x2,500, though don't bank on that one hitting very often, and winning potential has been pushed out even further to 25,000x the bet. But it also changes some of the original's rules to create a more extreme slot capable of potentially higher highs, and possibly lower lows.

Not so much in Free Spins 1 or Super Free Spins 1, which follow the original blueprint, though with minimum multiplier values in the super version. However, one of the big game changes can be found in Free Spins 2 or Super Free Spins 2, which adds every multiplier symbol value to the total multiplier and applies that total multiplier to every win. There is no fine print, no need to land multiplier symbols with wins, or anything like along those lines. The process has been streamlined and made more user-friendly. Gamblers pay extra for the privilege when buying the more desirable free spins features, but on the positive side, any organic bonus round trigger in the base game can lead to any of the four possible rounds. The odds of naturally triggering Super Free Spins 2 are likely to be lower than regular Free Spins 1, but the possibility is there; no need to fork out extra if you're willing to let luck (hopefully) do the rest.

All in all, it was nice to see Pragmatic Play actually evolve the gameplay and not just throw a bigger multiplier symbol in there.
