Giant's Fortune Megaways: Slot Overview
Designed by Stakelogic, Giant's Fortune Megaways is a fantasy adventure full of big lumbering lads, castles, treasure, and the like. It's also a game using mostly standard Megaways features, with a couple of alterations, partly provided by Stakelogic themselves.
Players into high fantasy will probably enjoy the view presented in Giant's Fortune Megaways. With its winding stone bridges, castle, waterfall, and mountains, we could be in Middle Earth, Narnia, Westeros, or a number of picturesque Eastern European cities. A dramatic soundtrack stirs the emotions further, creating an inviting environment to attempt to grab some of the giant's Fortune. Gaming takes place on a panel consisting of 6 main reels, plus a 4-position horizontal reel sitting above the grid. On every spin, the number of symbols alters on each reel, providing a shifting number of win ways, up to 117,649 at the most. In other words, a Giant's Fortune's setup could be classed as conventional, so too are many of the features to come.

Giant's Fortune Megaways includes Stakelogic's Super Strike feature so take an extra moment to consider the appropriate stake before venturing forth. Without it, bets range from 20 p/c to $/€20 per spin; activate the Super Stake, though, and the amount is doubled. This doesn't affect symbol values, but you do get a host of extra benefits – covered below. The RTP is unaffected as well, remaining 96% however you choose to take on the giant.
Players score a regular win in Giant's Fortune Megaways when matching symbols land adjacently, starting at the leftmost reel. Almost all require three or more to do so, such as the 9-A royals, bag of Fortune, chalice, and chest of Fortune symbols. The giant of the tale, however, pays out for two of a kind combos – up to 50x the bet for a line of six. The other three premium symbols aren't quite so exciting at 2 to 7.5 times the bet for six of a kind. For some reason, a feather has been used on the wild symbol, which lands on the top reel to substitute any pay symbol. When wilds hit, they remain sticky on the reel until they are used in a win.
Giant's Fortune Megaways: Slot Features

Now for features, where Giant's Fortune Megaways provides Super Stake, cascades, win multipliers, an Egg Collector, and free spins. Central to the gameplay is the cascade mechanic which blasts winning combinations from the board, filling the empty spaces as new symbols drop down into them. This may cause another win to form, only stopping the process when no new combo appears. If the Super Stake feature is active, a win multiplier is added to the base game, starting at x1, increasing by +1 following cascades.
Eggs are the bonus symbols, and when 4 are in view, they trigger the Egg Collector feature (if Super Stake is active, only 3 are needed). Now, each bonus symbol turns into a bet multiplier when the Egg Collector begins; all other positions are cleared. The round starts with 3 spins, resetting if new bonus symbols land. If a reel is filled with bonus symbols, an extra empty space is added to the reel, up to 7 symbols each. Also, if all 6 reels are filled with bonus symbols, the feature ends and awards a 10,000x win. As well as regular bonus symbols, there are 2 special ones. One is the adder, which adds its value to all other symbols. The other is the collector, adding values of all symbols in view to its own. When spins run out, all values in view are awarded.
Castles are displayed on the scatter symbol, and 4 on the reels awards 12 free spins, with every extra scatter adding +3 more. If the Super Stake is active, only 3 scatters are required along with the added benefit that any win multiplier is carried over to the bonus round. If Super Stake is not on, a win multiplier is used in free spins anyway, increasing by +1 for each cascade.
Giant's Fortune Megaways: Slot Verdict
Giant's Fortune Megaways is a competently designed and executed Megaways game that doesn't try to reinvent the wheel. The Super Stake add on can be a little contentious, some players divided over whether it should be included at all. Double the stake is double the stake, after all, though at least in Giant's Fortune Megaways, there are tangible benefits. Needing one less scatter or bonus symbol is a potential leg up, and a win multiplier in the base game can be useful. Interestingly, the RTP is the same either way.
Moving on to other features, sticky wilds you don't see used like this every day, and it is nice they hang about until they get included in a win. For once, you want them as far to the right as possible to link up longer winning combos. The main bonus rounds aren't bad either. Free spins are a standard progressive multiplier job, and the Egg Collector, while not making an appearance in loads of Megaways games, is essentially standard hold-and-win stuff. So commonplace are the bonus games, it's as hard to criticise them as it is to rave about them. Both go about the task of knocking out wins of up to 18,272x the bet when luck is hot and the big man's feeling benevolent.
Giant's Fortune Megaways turned out to be a decent game to play; it's got a bit of character and does enough to be a respectable effort.
