Gold King (Play’n GO) Online Slot Review

Gold King – we tried it and this is what we have to say

  • Max win of 2500x per single spin

  • Unlimited free spins

Gold King Introduction

Gold King is a fairly simple game from Play’n GO with a layout quite typical of the Swedish slot provider. In some sense it even reminds us a bit of their flag ship game Book of Dead. Gold King is a slot with 5 reels, 3 rows and 20 fixed paylines. It features Super Spins, Golden Spins and Super Stacks which we will look at later on in the review.

Gold King Symbols

There are only 3 premium symbols in the game. These are made out of Gold Bars, an Amulet and a King’s crown. The low value symbols are represented by the classical A, K, Q, J and 10. There is also a Wild Symbol represented by a Rose and that appears in stacks of 6 or 7 on each reel. A wild line pays 125 times the bet and in case you would land a full screen of wilds the award would be 2500 times the bet.

3 Scatter symbols activate the Super Spins feature. 10 Free Spins are awarded initially, which can be retriggered.

The max win is capped at €500,000,00 which will probably  be enough for most.

Gold King Features

The game is quite straight forward without complicated features which makes it easy to get into.

Super Stack

During every spin in the main game the slot will randomly pick a symbol which will fill 12 consecutive spaces on each reel and on any spin a so called Golden Spin can occur. The Golden Spin is essentially a heart stopper that happens when the same symbols appear stacked on reels 1, 3 and 5. Reel 2 and 4 will then go into a slow spin and hopefully award the player with a full screen of the symbol.

Super Spins

The Super Spins is the Free Spins game that will activate if 3 Scatter symbols (Kings) appears on reel 1, 3 and 5. 10 Free Spins will initially be awarded, but up to 10 additional Free Spins can be retriggered during any one spin.

  • 1 Scatter symbol will award the player with 1 additional Free Spin
  • 2 Scatter symbols will award the player 2 additional Free Spins
  • 3 Scatter symbols will award the player 10 additional Free Spins

There is no limit to how many Free Spins can be reactivated.

During each Super Spins round, one random A-K-Q-J-10 symbol is super stacked, filling 8 consecutive spaces on each reel. The wilds also appear stacked on the reels by taking up 6 or 7 consecutive spaces.

During Super Spins, the high paying Crown, Amulet and Gold Bar symbols expand to fill the entire reel. These symbols will only expand if doing so will create a winning combination. Before the symbols expand, any wins involving A-K-Q-J-10 symbols are paid out, as well as any wins involving only Wild symbols.

Gold King Conclusion

Gold King is as already mentioned a fairly simple game which you can just jump straight into without having to learn complicated features. If you like games such as Book of Dead chances are high that you will enjoy this one too.

There is some really good potential to this slot with the unlimited Free Spins and stacked wilds and the game appears to be quite high on the volatility index. It may even be one of the more volatile games released by Play’n GO in a long time.

Gold King has an RTP of 96.52%. Playing the game under a Curacao license the RTP can be much lower than this however – as low as 84.54%.

Gold King is available across all Play’n GO casinos such as Metal Casino, Casumo and Royal Panda.

Sorry but this game looks kind of boring. A generic play n go clone.
