Hot Hot Chilli Pot: Slot Overview
Developer Red Tiger attempts to dial-up temperatures using the popular chilli theme in a game titled Hot Hot Chilli Pot. Is it a case of so hot they had to name it twice? Actually, not really. Sometimes in life, big boasts are made to compensate for something lacking. In many ways, this is the case in Hot Hot Chilli Pot which might be a roiling hive of cookware activity on the front end, while on the back, it's not quite so scorching.
Hot Hot Chilli Pot is a grid slot using a cluster pays system to score coins, which then goes on to trigger a chain reaction feature. The game is played in a restaurant, evidenced by a cash register and a couple of cookers. The most obvious one has a pot on top containing a bubbling red concoction ringed with corn chips and where the game grid is located. At first, Hot Hot Chilli Pot does come across rather heated, but it didn't take many spins to gather that this is a relatively sedated sort of game as far as grid slots, or any slots really, go.

Taking bets from between 10 p/c to $/€100 per spin, the game is played on a 7x7 sized panel where wins are formed when at least 5 identical matching symbols are horizontally or vertically connected. When a successful cluster appears on screen, it then disappears, allowing symbols above it on the reels to drop down, potentially leading to additional wins on the same spin. These chain reactions continue until no new clusters hit. A low volatile game, Hot Hot Chilli Pot produces a default theoretical return to player value of 95.76% and winning potential noticeably low in this day and age.
Fruit slots are a well-established slot genre, but for whatever reason, their vegetable siblings are nowhere near as popular. Hot Hot Chilli Pot might well have spotted the imbalance and has stacked its paytable with nine regular pay symbols that are predominantly veg-based. In ascending order are beans, avocados, sliced peppers, and corn chips as the low pays. High pays are where you'll find onions, cucumbers, steaks, carrots, and golden chillies. High pay clusters max out at 25 or more symbols and are worth 40 to 100 times your stake. It is possible Super Symbols hit, too; these are 2x2 sized versions of any high paying symbol.
Hot Hot Chilli Pot: Slot Features

Getting the condiment mix right is the main goal of Hot Hot Chilli Pot. What that means is there is no free spin or separate bonus round, just 3 modifiers triggered when 1x2 sized Chilli Wild symbols hit. There are three types which behave like so when used in a winning cluster:
- Green Chilli Wild – awards a multiplier that is applied to the total win of the current spin. New winning Green Chilli Wilds may appear in the chain reaction sequence to increase the multiplier up to x10.
- Red Chilli Wilds – removes all low paying symbols from the reels.
- Yellow Chilli Wilds – adds fire wilds to the reels. These are regular wild symbols that only appear from this feature to substitute any paying symbol.
It is possible more than one Chilli Wild hits, in which case they play out in order of Green to Red to Yellow. Also, on any non-winning spin, there is a chance an Armageddon feature triggers to add one or more Chilli Wilds to the reels, resulting in a win.
Hot Hot Chilli Pot: Slot Verdict
It is interesting how many of these flashy, boisterous chilli slots don't burn as intensely as they claim. Hot Hot Chilli Pot is one of these. On a positive note, the vibe is lively; plus it carries the chilli theme in a new and more cooking based direction. Yet, the game lacks payoff. It's like one of those kitchen scenes in movies, where multiple pots are bubbling, the characters have sauce smeared all over their aprons, one of them holds up a wooden spoon for the other to taste, then wipes a dab of flour on their nose, while they both crack up. Then there's a cut to the dinner scene, and all those overblown kitchen antics have been poured into a simple pasta dish.
Without free spins or other game phases, Hot Hot Chilli Pot did get a tad repetitive after a while, like it is stuck on repeat. The hot sauce modifiers work okay while being pretty regular extras in a grid slot. Having no bonus round means a circular nature is built-in with no real goal to shoot for. Either you get the feature sauce mix just right, or the game struggles to get past a simmer. It also means the max win is nothing to get excited about either, coming in at 1,951 times the stake.
If chasing down the hottest chilli slot on the market is a hobby, then Hot Hot Chilli Pot will be a disappointment. For players who value a lively vibe over solid features which build on one another, potentially leading to some almighty drop or round of free drops, then Hot Hot Chilli Pot might suffice. Otherwise, prepare for repetitive treadmill style gaming set to a relaxed jogging speed.
Though well presented, the limited, repetitive gaming makes this chilli slot about as appetising as the previous night's leftovers.
