Juicy Joker Mega Moolah: Slot Overview

The mighty Mega Moolah machine rolls on with another slot wired into the lucrative network. If you are new, Mega Moolah is one of the biggest online progressive jackpots in the world, regularly paying out multi-million Euro prizes. One nice thing about it is there are a growing number of games in the network. They don’t tend to be great as standalone slots, but the variety does give players a bit of choice as to how they’d like to spin for the big one.

As you might know, the original Mega Moolah was designed by Microgaming, who has since gone on to hand out design duties to a bunch of partner studios. Adding their contribution to the line-up is Juicy Joker Mega Moolah from Just For The Win. Mega Moolah often comes attached to more classically inspired gaming, and Juicy Joker certainly runs with this concept. Actually, the name is a bit of giveaway, referring to jokers and fruit, both stalwarts of the iGaming scene.

Juicy Joker Mega Moolah

Juicy Joker doesn’t disappoint in that regard from the moment the game lights up. Just For The Win has gone for a simple look, using a gold 5-reel, 20-payline grid which holds all manner of fruity/classic symbols. It sits before a simple yet pleasant burgundy background covered in hearts and diamonds. Juicy Joker is the kind of slot you can tell straight away whether you dig the vibe or not.

And, yet, cast your eyes to the left-hand side of the screen to feast on the current jackpot count. Those 7 or even 8 figure sums might just do enough to win over the most ardent fruit slot haters. Another aspect which helps is the freakishly jazzy soundtrack. This thing bops like no one’s business and contributes almost as much to Juicy Joker’s allure as the Mega Jackpot. Okay, not so much, but it is a fine track to accompany a jackpot chase.

Something else you can do while patiently hitting spin is pull together some line wins using the regular pay symbols. There are eight in total, all big, bright generic icons, starting with the four card suits as the low pays. Things get juicier amongst the high pays where cherries, grapes, oranges, and watermelons can be found. Hit a five of a kind win made up of high pays for a payout of 7.5x to 12.5x the bet.

Despite the general gambling public probably not giving two hoots about any Mega Moolah stat other than the top prize, others are a bit more discerning. For them, know that Juicy Joker operates under a medium volatile math model, producing an RTP of 92.03%. This is obviously significantly lower than you might otherwise tolerate, but fairly typical for a massive progressive and better than the original Mega Moolah by around 4%. Stakes, meanwhile, are available from 10 p/c to £/€10 per spin, and players will be pleased to know jackpots can be hit at any bet level, though the larger the bet, the greater the chance of triggering the Jackpot Wheel.

Juicy Joker Mega Moolah: Slot Features

Juicy Joker Mega Moolah
Juicy Joker - Jackpot Wheel

The game has three wilds - a normal, a Respins Wild and a Juicy Wild. All can replace regular symbols to make a winning combination and are worth 25x the bet for a line of five. When the Respin Wild symbol lands, a respin is awarded using a Returning Wild feature. During respins, when new Respin Wilds land, their position is marked by a Returning Wild frame, then another respin is triggered. When no new wilds land, there is one final spin where all framed positions are filled with wilds.

Landing 3 scatter symbols on reels 1, 3, and 5, award 9 free spins using the Returning Wild feature plus one final spin. The wild used here is the Juicy Wild, which marks positions with frames for the final free spin where all are filled with wilds. Free spins cannot be retriggered.

Lastly, the jackpot game. What you want here is for 3 joker symbols to land on the middle three reels. This triggers the Progressive Jackpot Wheel which spins to award one of the four jackpots, or a cash prize of 1x, 2x, or 3x the bet. Starting values for the jackpots are; Mini (seeds at £/€10), Minor (seeds at £/€100), Major (seeds at £/€10,000), and Mega (seeds at £/€1,000,000). Since all are progressive they can grow to epic proportions.

Juicy Joker Mega Moolah: Slot Verdict

From screenshots, Juicy Joker looks like any old unremarkable 5-reel, fruit extravaganza. In practice, it is more enjoyable than it might initially seem. What makes it so is the clean, well-animated graphics, as well as the shuffle inducing soundtrack. Should you hit mute, by accident or design, the fun factor drops by several magnitudes. Top marks to the sound guy, or gal, who came up with the tune because it really helps make the game. Sure, anything possessing the two words ‘Mega Moolah’ in the title is all about living the dream by hitting the Jackpot, but a laugh or two along the way doesn’t hurt.

As well as music, the features do a decent enough job of making Juicy Joker a pretty fun game. Respins using frames to populate a final spin with a bunch of wilds isn’t new, but it triggers frequently enough to keep the flow going. One downside, is they aren’t super profitable, nor is anything in Juicy Joker not related to the Jackpot, where max wins top out at 500x the bet. Not super exciting and it doesn’t compete with other slots on the network such as Absolootly Mad from sister studio Triple Edge.

Then again, no one really wants to win the consolation prize when spinning a game like Mega Moolah. It’s the top Jackpot that counts, and battling away for million Euro prizes on Juicy Joker is just as entertaining, if not more, than any other Mega Moolah title out there.

Good

Juicy Joker provides players looking for an entertaining enough fruit slot variation to crack big wins on the Mega Moolah network.
