Le Outlaw Slot

editor's note: Le Outlaw is an exclusive release from Hacksaw, available on selected casinos only.

Hacksaw Gaming's "Le" series is starting to feel increasingly crowded, and Le Outlaw does little initially to disguise its family resemblance. Smokey has simply traded his previous surroundings for the Wild West, bringing revolvers, wanted posters and piles of loot to another 6x5 grid. The western presentation works well enough, but anyone familiar with Le Cowboy or the wider series will know roughly what to expect. Fortunately, there are some mechanical changes beneath the familiar exterior.

Clusters of at least five matching symbols produce wins, followed by Super Cascades that remove all matching symbols from the grid. The main addition is the Revolver mechanic. When a Wild contributes to a winning cluster, it becomes a Revolver Cylinder loaded with 2 to 6 shots. Once the cascades finish, the bullets target random positions and can uncover Coins, Diamonds, Clovers, Loot Bags or Reloads, with the latter adding another 2 to 6 shots.

Coins carry values between 1x and 100x, while Diamonds are worth 150x, 250x or 500x. Clovers apply 2x-20x multipliers to adjacent cash prizes, whereas Loot Bags can spread their multiplier across the entire grid before collecting the available prize values. With the right combination of Reloads, multipliers and collectors, a Revolver sequence can continue developing well beyond its initial shots.

Three FS symbols trigger High Noon Saloon with 10 Free Spins and an increased chance of Revolver Cylinders appearing. Four unlock Trail of Trickery, which adds a Bullet Collector that gains one shot for every winning cluster before firing everything accumulated on the final spin. Five Scatters reveal the hidden Pistols at Dawn bonus, starting the Collector with five bullets, firing it after every spin and removing the lowest Bronze Coins from the available prizes. Additional Scatters can also extend the features.

FeatureSpins and direct purchases provide the usual Hacksaw alternatives. BonusHunt costs 3x, while Wild West FeatureSpins cost 75x. High Noon Saloon can be bought for 65x and Trail of Trickery for 250x. The default RTP is a respectable 96.28%, although substantially lower configurations exist, including one dropping as far as 86.33%. Payout potential reaches a much more impressive 25,000x.

Le Outlaw is undeniably repetitive as another entry in a series that is beginning to recycle its identity rather aggressively, but the Revolver mechanic gives this particular instalment more substance than its appearance suggests. Reloads, Clovers and Loot Bags can interact to create some entertaining chains, while the increasingly powerful Free Spins tiers provide meaningful progression towards Pistols at Dawn.

It still feels far too close to Le Cowboy to be considered genuinely fresh, but mechanically there's enough going on to make Le Outlaw one of the more worthwhile variations on Hacksaw's increasingly familiar "Le" formula.
