Lightning Horseman Introduction & Symbols
Lightning Box Games is an Australian software developer that’s been producing games for both land-based and online casinos for well over a decade, which is quite an achievement considering they’ve never released one single good slot. We’ve never had a reason to review a Lightning Box slot before, but with too much time on our hands, and no other slot in the fire hole, we decided to give their new slot Lightning Horseman a try.
Lightning Horseman is a 5-reel, 3-row slot with 40 paylines, 95,5% RTP and a bet level ranging from €0.40 to €50. It’s a simplistic slot that no one would guess was produced in 2018 judging by the retro-looking visuals. This is a Jackpot slot that comes with a couple of features which we will dissect further below, but the game doesn’t really need an instruction manual to be honest.
Symbols on the reels include the standard low paying A, K, Q, J characters, as well as 5 high value symbols in the form of ravens, wooden houses, guy holding lantern, lady in red cape, and treasure chests with the latter paying 7,5x for 5 of a kind. The most valuable symbol of all however is the Wild which pays 15x for 5 across a full payline. As the wilds appear full stacked, it should be possible to land a full screen of wilds, something that could potentially yield a 600x max win per single spin.
6 or more Lightning Bolt symbols (worth nothing by themselves and seem to work more like a win block) triggers the Lightning Respin feature with 3 initial spins awarded. Any Lightning Bolt symbol landing on the reels are held throughout the feature and all positions with no Lightning Bolt symbols will spin. Any subsequent Lightning Bolts symbols are held and re-spins reset to 3. The feature ends when all 3 spins have been played or in the case of a full-screen Lightning Bolts symbols. The symbols will then flip to reveal cash prizes or any of the jackpots.
If you managed to land all 15 Lightning Bolts symbols the Flippin’ Re-trigger feature is initiated and all Lightning Bolts are re-flipped again for more cash prizes.
Mini, Minor, Major and Grand jackpots may be won randomly at the end of Lightning Respin OR Flippin’ Re-trigger bonus. Jackpot prizes are fixed, meaning they’re not progressive. The value of the jackpots increases with the bet size. On the minimum €0.40 bet, the Grand jackpot is €2,500 (6250x) and on €50 max bet, the Grand jackpot is €62,500 (1250x).
Lightning Horseman Conclusion
Lightning Horseman is a terrible slot in every way possible. The visuals are extremely depressing, the payouts even more so and the Lightning Respin feature has been overused by this point. Needless to say, we advise our readers to stay away from this garbage, especially considering there’s an endless number of decent titles out there to spend your hard earned money on.
Lightning Horseman is available on all Lightning Box casinos.
