I am curious to hear how people "who are into this genre" see this as slot game? Because I just don't get it. For me it looks like an art project that hasn't really extra value on things that I am looking forward to see.Even the main features feel sluggish to me and I would like to speed run them through. But like said it looks different, it's something you rarely see but I would have to play it with my own money, I wouldn't play it that long. So difficult to give a rating.
Call me old, but if you play the game as it should be played; mostly without bonus buy-ins, you won't see much of it with normal bankroll. However the theme goes through the whole game and is made as a player would have made it to other players (those who play a lot). And I mean the players who love themed games and can handle the extreme high volatility.For casual players and players with small bankroll this goes to same gategory with No Limit City. ..a non-playable game. You can only scratch the surface and it leave you wondering what just happened. From base game without buying any extras, you rarely see any grannies and the wins are mostly 0-10x. And if you only see the base game it won't keep you playing with sewing machine, dark colored symbols and hounting music.But then comes the bonus games - for the lucky ones or those you want to invest to see them as full. There you can see how the game is sewn together. I like the idea how the game are is now filled with symbols and diminishing chances. It's the opposite of that. Bonus game get more interesting and you keep building the multipliers.So as you can see I have mixed feelings on this game..
If you have played normal card games like Jack's or better or similar this is not for you. There are no choices to make and especially bonus game feels so rigged. Yes, there are 52 cards + wilds, but the feeling is like everything has been already decided (like it is). With normal odds you would never get that kind of continious events that this game offers. Maybe that works for some player group but in a way this is just a normal slot game with wintable that pays a bit differently. You could set up similar game with fruit symbols.I love the idea to "make things differently", but I would offered a bit less features and make the raffle at least somewhat "more real". Basegame could then be set up to pay and continue only with better hand and give features more often.Traditional card game vs. Balatro vs. slot game = hybrid that I don't know do I like it or not.
I have been wondering what happened to NetEnt games, but this is actually quite nice game. Mechanics are probably something that has reference from ELK's Gold series and math feels also fine after short testing peried. Sounds are also probably mostly taken from the original game so you get same kind of feeling.What I don't like is the graphics. Or they are kind of ok, but why the game is so dimmed down? If you want the symbols look like stonish then they look like that but people would probably want to see them more colourful and gold should pop up which it doesn't do now. So not all needs to be as it was back in the days.. Now you have a larger game area so with dimmed colours it's more difficult to see the differences between symbols and "read" the game. Flowing water looks also a bit "cheap", like copy-pasted effect that went bit off.
