Totem Poles Slot (Mini Review)
Totem Poles from Hacksaw partner Kitsune Studios is a 3x3 slot with 11 paylines, a 96.27% RTP, and a max win of 10,000x. It mixes a Native American-inspired theme with a stacking mechanic: landing a full reel of matching symbols triggers a Spirit Wheel with multipliers or bonus entry. It's an ok slot overall - fairly original in structure, but not quite a must-play. The presentation is clean, with bright colours and a desert backdrop albeit somewhat generic and void of personality.
Wins are made by lining up three matching symbols from the left, and payouts are small unless you hit stacked symbols. When the Spirit Wheel triggers, you can get multipliers up to x200, the 10,000x jackpot, or access to one of two bonus modes. Odoodem Spins and Super Odoodem Spins both use a multiplier trail that grows with consecutive wins, giving the game a bit of momentum once things line up. The Super version simply starts higher and grows faster. There's also a feature buy menu with several options, though the higher-tier buys come with steep volatility.
Totem Poles offers some fresh ideas, especially the stacked-symbol wheel trigger, but it also feels a little clunky and basic at times, especially the base game can drag on. Still, once you understand how the features link together, it has enough going on to be fairly entertaining, even if it never fully escapes its own simplicity.
