Mighty Arthur

Slot Review (Quickspin)

Quickspin seems to think that their wild reel tease feature is the best thing to ever happen to slots, which is why they will now add it to every game ever released after Sakura

Mighty Arthur (Quickspin): Review

All jokes aside, it is an interesting feature but aren't they over doing it a bit? It worked great in Sakura, yes. They tried it with a slightly different approach in Sticky Bandits, and here comes yet another version of it with the release of Mighty Arthur.

We have to say first of all, however, that Mighty Arthur is a very fine looking slot. This is Quickspin's strong side, so we aren't that surprised to see such excellent visuals. Mostly low variance, Quickspin slots may not cater to hardcore gamblers, but are extremely popular with recreational players.

Mighty Arthur is based on the folklore of the legendary British medieval leader King Arthur and the legend of the Excalibur sword. According to the legend, the sword has magical powers and can only be pulled from the stone by the right-wise king.

Mighty Arthur has a fairly basic layout made up of 5 reels and 20 paylines. Having grown a bit tired of intricate games such as Reactoonz and Moon Princess, it's actually nice to see a "back to the basics" format. The symbols on the reels include medieval style A, K, Q, J and 10 playing cards, goblets, helmets, spell-books, King Arthur, a beautiful red-haired queen and a standard wild. The interesting thing about the game are the random features, which makes it interesting to play in both base game and the in the bonus.

Mighty Arthur (Quickspin): Features

Merlin Random Wilds feature which comes into play in both the base game and Free Spins Bonus feature. When the Merlin wild appears on any of the 5 reels, it can generate between 2 and 6 additional wild symbols which are then added randomly on the reels. You can get Merlin on multiple reels to fill the screen up with wilds. In the base game however, there is no guarantee that the Merlin Wild will generate any wilds and can tease you much in the same way as the wild reels on Sakura. In the bonus game on the other hand, you are guaranteed to see wilds generated when landing the Merlin.

Arthur Wild symbol – when it appears on reel 3 in the base game and Free Spins Bonus feature, it will expand to adjacent reels making them fully wild. You are then guaranteed to get a winning combination. This is known as the Arthur Expanding Symbol feature.

The Bonus is triggered by landing the scatter symbol simultaneously on reels 1, 3 and 5. This will reward you with 10 free spins. The Bonus scatter doesn’t appear during the feature which means you cannot retrigger the feature which is a bit of a let down.

However, and as mentioned, both the Arthur and Merlin wilds can appear to give you a 3 reel Arthur wild on the middle 3 reels and up to 6 extra wilds on the reels – this can occur on each free spin. It is fully possible to get a full screen of wilds.

Mighty Arthur (Quickspin): Verdict

The game is quite entertaining even for us who are not really into the lower variance part of the spectrum. Sure, it's a bit ridiculous to see a 100x win being celebrated as an Epic win, but that's what you get when playing these types of slots. Max win on any single spin is 621 times the stake, so there is some potential after all. Moreover, the 96.94% RTP offer is excellent as well and should make it a good wagering game.
