Thanks to you, the readers, Bigwinboard.com is now bigger than it has ever been before. And we don’t just mean in terms of monthly visitors. The site has also earned the respect of the iGaming industry and has established itself as the number one online slots reviewing site in the world. In spite of the success, we remain true to our commitment to provide unbiased reviews, never swaying from the core values that has made us who we are.
With growth also comes new possibilities and we are happy to announce that we are soon to enter a new phase in our evolution that may be of great benefit to our readers. In the coming week, we will launch our first big giveaway, so make sure you follow the news here.
Alright, with that cleared up we are now ready for another one of our weekly roundups. Let’s see what the game studios have been up to in the past week!
Charlie Chance in Hell to Pay (Play’n GO)
Yes, yes, we know. What would one of these weekly roundups be without a new game from Play’n GO. This week’s addition is one that we’ve been incredibly curious about ever since we laid our eyes on the promo.
Charlie Chance In Hell To Pay is the peculiar name of a slot with an equally unusual theme. At its core, Charlie Chance is a fruit slot. However, it comes with a few modern twists that makes it much more interesting to explore. But what’s truly special about it is the theme. Styled to look like an old black and white 1920’s cartoon, it’s one of the more unique games we’ve seen in a while – and full of charm too.
Whilst it has received mixed reception from the casino community, and “only” earned a score of 66% in our review, Charlie Chance has still managed to climb high on the slots charts as one of the most played slots of the week. What we didn’t like about the game was the fact that it felt nearly impossible to hit anything even remotely close to the stated max win potential of 6,666x. Still, it’s easy to see why so many players are intrigued by it given the unusual look and feel.
4Squad (Red Tiger)
4Squad from Red Tiger is another slot that is currently trending and appears to be doing surprisingly well. Admittedly, we weren’t as thrilled as parts of the slots crowd when we got to try it. What you get here is a slot with a superhero theme, but a non-branded one. As a result, it comes across as something of an X-Men knock-off. That’s not the worst part though, in fact, it’s not really even an issue – the game is well designed and the presentation is flawless.
4Squad is something as unusual as a grid slot from Red Tiger. Unfortunately, it’s not really their strongest side. Whilst we have to commend the developers for trying to come up with something different, we felt the 4 modifiers weren’t really enough to carry the game on their own – especially in a game in which payouts are capped at 1,279x. It’s possible that we failed to see the big picture here, but then again, 4Squad is a slot that caters more to casual gamers and that’s not really a demographic we can identify with.
Dragon Match Megaways (iSoftBet)
iSoftBet is a studio that’s really worked some magic with its Megaways license. Ok, so their second one, Majestic Megaways, was one of those conventional and forgettable Bonanza-style Megaways games that every studio apparently need to have in their portfolio. But their first one, Aztec Gold Megaways, was an incredible hit that really put the studio on the iGaming map.
In-between the Megaways titles, iSoftBet has released a few decent games such as Euphoria and Racetrack Riches Megaboard, yet it’s the Megaways announcements that always make us extra excited. Usually, Asian themed slots tend to have a bit of a generic feel to them, at least to us in the west, but once in a while a game comes along that speaks to everyone. Dragon Match Megaways is one such game.
High variance and with up to 3,136 ways to win, Dragon Match features a powerful soundtrack and looks absolutely stunning. As for the gameplay, it makes do with only 4 reels and 2 extra horizontal reels, hence the low win ways count. Not to worry, it still involves plenty of hard-hitting action with potential for wins of over 10,000 times the stake. Ok, so they’ve copied the free spins from Blueprint Gaming, but most will probably be able to live with that.
Street Fighter 2 (NetEnt)
Few slot announcement caused as much hype as Street Fighter 2 when revealed by NetEnt at the London iGaming Conference earlier this year. Based on the iconic video game, Street Fighter 2 almost redefines what we think of in a slot.
The arcade license has been put to good use and permeates every aspect of the game. Moreover, the whole way the game is played is new and fresh. It’s not completely without its drawbacks though as some find its mega pixelated look make it appear cluttered and the rules confusing. Either way, there are millions of people out there who have a very personal relationship to the video game and to them, Street Fighter 2: The World Warrior Slot, is a burst of nostalgia.
Played using a 5×5 grid with cluster pays mechanics, Street Fighter 2 is a blockbuster slot by every definition of the word that lets you choose one of 8 original characters to do battle. The interesting thing is that each character comes with its own RTP and volatility, so choose wisely. During gameplay, keep an eye on your health bar as well. if you lose, you’re sent off to the Car Smash bonus game and forced to start from scratch. If you win, the Beat the Boss game is triggered where wins of over 7,000 times your stake are possible.
