Orb of Destiny: Slot Overview
Destiny's a funny one, would you really want to know what your future is? If it's a positive future of wealth, health, and love, then all the surprise is gone, taking some of the magic with it. If the future is grim, then what? Maybe blissful ignorance is the way to go; that way, we can battle hopefully on, come what may. Hacksaw Gaming's slot Orb of Destiny contains elements of both, sort of. For the most part, it is a totally random online slot where anything might happen. On the other hand, its full reel wild Lady Fortune symbols can display multiple multiplier values, which may be used in the future.
At the start of a session, curtains draw apart, and a wooden table covered in cards, coins, a book, a candle, and a gaming grid appears on the screen. You can almost smell the incense. Due to all the dice lying around, it also looks like a game of Dungeons & Dragons could also be about to commence. By using a bit of imagination, it is quite possible to pretend you've entered a fortune teller's domain when playing Orb of Destiny, showing that no matter what topic Hacksaw Gaming chooses, and they are diverse, the studio can make practically anything look good.

The developer is also adept at making volatile slots, though Orb of Destiny's 3 out of 5 volatility rating puts it in the medium bracket. With a default RTP of 96.23%, hits on this return configuration across its 6-reel, 4-row game grid occur at a frequency of 20.11%. A total of 14 paylines are provided for doing so, as is a bet range of 10 cents to $/€100 per spin.
The fact there are no card ranks or suits on the gaming grid is one reason why it looks so appealing. For low-paying symbols, Orb of Destiny has instead 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 differently coloured dice and five variously patterned cards as the high pays. Landing a line of 6 identical lows awards 5 to 10 times the bet, whereas 6 OAK high pay combinations are worth 15 to 25 times the stake. A line of 6 Lady Fortunes (which are wild) also pays 25 times the bet.
Orb of Destiny: Slot Features

Hacksaw Gaming wheels out its beloved full reel wild multipliers for Orb of Destiny in the form of Lady Fortune reels, available in the base game and the two bonus rounds - Lady Luck free spins and Future Fortunes free spins.
Lady Fortune
Lady Fortune is an expanded wild reel which displays 1 to 3 multipliers (with values of x2 to x100) at the bottom of the reel when landed. The total number of multipliers can be increased by landing Orb symbols, up to a maximum of 5 multipliers on a Lady Fortune. Lady Fortunes substitute for all regular paying symbols. When a Lady Fortune is part of a winning combination, the win is modified by the multiplier at the bottom of the Lady Fortune reel. If more than one Lady Fortune is part of the same win, their multipliers are added first before being applied.
After wins have been calculated, the bottom multiplier is removed from all Lady Fortune reels whether they were in a win or not. If at least 1 Lady Fortune has multipliers remaining, players get a respin where Lady Fortunes with multipliers stay on the grid. Other Lady Fortunes are removed. This repeats till all Lady Fortunes have been removed or the max win is reached.
The Orb of Destiny
When the Orb of Destiny symbols hit, it reveals a number of 1-3 and adds this many random multipliers (possible values range from x2 to x100) to all Lady Fortune reels in view. The Orb symbol only appears on respins, in the base game and in the bonus games.
Lady Luck Free Spins
Landing 3 FS scatter symbols in the base game triggers 10 Lady Luck free spins. In this feature, all Lady Fortune reels start with at least 2 multipliers. Hitting 2 FS scatters grants +2 free spins, or hitting 3 FS scatters grants +4 free spins.
Future Fortunes Free Spins
Landing 4 FS scatters in the base game triggers this feature where players get 10 free spins. In this feature, all Lady Fortune reels start with at least 3 multipliers. Hitting 2 FS scatters grants +2 free spins, or hitting 3 FS scatters grants +4 free spins.
Bonus Buys
Orb of Destiny supplies these feature buy options:
- BonusHunt FeatureSpins - 3x the bet, each spin is 5 times more likely to trigger a bonus game. RTP 96.35%, highly volatile.
- Fortune's Favor FeatureSpins - 50x the bet, each spin guarantees at least 1 Lady Fortune reel lands. RTP 96.32%, very highly volatile..

Orb of Destiny: Slot Verdict
There were mixed emotions about Orb of Destiny. Just to be clear, there's nothing wrong that might trigger a bout of the dry heaves, but Hacksaw Gaming's love affair with expanding/full reel wild multipliers is getting a little bit stale. It's got to the point where you almost expect to see them in each of the studio's new releases. Hacksaw doesn't exclusively stick to the feature; the previous slot, Cash Crew, flipped the formula, for example, but so many have poured forth from the studio of late that they're in danger of losing some of their charm.
With that moan out of the way, let's focus on some of Orb of Destiny's finer moments. First of all, the game does a good job of getting you in the mood for some crystal ball gazing thanks to the pretty graphics and first-person POV presentation, as if you're actually in the Lady's inner sanctum about to tinker with the fabric of reality, maybe pull a thread and see what sort of mayhem this produces. Also, okay, sure, let's admit it, full reel wild multipliers can be pretty useful tools, can't deny that, and their potential values can be as high as x100, not to mention they are combinable when more than one Lady Fortune reel is in a win. Mix everything together, and in all phases of Orb of Destiny, its 10,000x max win is achievable.
A lot of what's on offer here might sound a little repetitive if you've been following Hacksaw Gaming's work, though having more than 1 multiplier on a Lady Fortune reel and their potential repeat use is a novelty. Is it novel enough to get the blood pumping in anticipation? Maybe so for players warm to Hacksaw Gaming's style, with a possible hint of 'oh, this sort of thing again' lingering in the background.
In Short
Orb of Destiny is a worthy game, but Hacksaw’s excessive use of expanding/full reel wild multipliers is causing it to lose some of its sparkle.
