Piggy Blitz Disco Gold: Slot Overview
Nearing the curly-tailed latter end of 2023, developer Play'n GO cracked the piggy bank open to go jivin' with the coin win slot Piggy Blitz. Approximately one year later, the studio is back at it. Dropping coins, shaking its curly-tailed butt on the dance floor, is the follow-up slot Piggy Blitz Disco Gold. The original, well, it wasn't a huge scoring game the first time around, but Play'n GO has made a few adjustments that might improve things. Hopefully. We'll see. This time, willing participants can look forward to the return of Cash Coin collecting and Blitz Spinz, with the addition of a new Free Spinz feature - players may choose either round when bonus mode is activated.
This particular disco is a cyan and magenta extravaganza as if a CGA monitor from the gaming days of yore escaped from the past in order to throw shapes at a party. Piggy Blitz Disco Gold is in possession of a flashing lights emphasis on pigs and neon. It does look jazzier than the original, there's more going on visually, so here's hoping the same can be said about the gameplay.

As it was previously, Piggy Blitz Disco Gold is played on a 6-reel gaming grid with 4 rows and 4,096 ways to win. Its volatility is marked as 6 out of 10, putting it in the middle area of the scale, while the highest of the five available RTP configurations comes in at 96.29%. Gamblers have access to bet levels of 10 c to $/€100, which they can wager while running circles after those coins.
Neon bright 10 to Ace card ranks start the symbol hierarchy off, followed by neon chips, dice, bells and diamonds. For landing 5 matching royals, the rewards equate to 1-2 times the stake. For landing 5 matching premium symbols, players collect 3 to 8 times their stake. Wild stars substitute for any regular paying symbol, helping to complete winning ways.
Piggy Blitz Disco Gold: Slot Features

Collecting Cash Coins is one of the main events around here. This is made possible in the base game and in the Blitz Spinz round, as it was last time. This time, though, Piggy Blitz Disco Gold has an additional Free Spinz round, which has a progressive levelling up component.
Cash Coins
Cash Coins land on the reels holding values of 0.5x to 25x the bet. They can also display the 100x Minor, 250x Major, or the 1,000x Mega prizes. Cash Coin values on the reels are awarded when a Piggy Bank symbol lands on the leftmost or rightmost reels at the same time. Only 1 Piggy Bank symbol may land per outer reel. If 2 Piggy Bank symbols hit, then the Cash Coin values (including the named prize Coins) are collected twice. If 2 Piggy Bank symbols land but no Cash Coins are visible, a respin occurs for a second chance to land Cash Coins.
Gold Piggy
When Cash Coins land with no Piggy Bank symbol, they are collected by the Gold Piggy located above the reels. This can grow in size when Cash Coins are collected, though the size does not relate to potential prizes. The Gold Piggy may randomly award a prize of 10x to 5,000x the bet when a Cash Coin is collected.
Scatter Symbols
Landing 3 to 6 scatter symbols triggers the bonus round. Players are able to choose Blitz Spinz, Free Spinz, or Mystery Spinz if they can't decide. If Mystery Spinz is clicked, the game chooses Blitz Spins or Free Spinz for the player.
Blitz Spinz
When triggered by 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters, players get 5, 10, 15, or 20 Blitz Spinz, respectively. In this feature, only Cash Coins, Piggy Banks, and blank spaces appear. The Minor, Major, and Mega Cash Coins are active, as is a special 150x Cash Coin. Piggy Banks are guaranteed in Blitz Spinz. All possible prize symbols can be collected twice. Up to 20 Blitz Spinz may be awarded.
Free Spinz
When triggered by 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters, players win 10, 15, 20, or 25 free spins, respectively. Only the Diamond symbol and all royals are present in Free Spinz. Cash Coins and Piggy Banks do not appear in this feature. During Free Spinz, players get a multiplier from a set range on each spin, and scatters are collected on a meter. Every 4 scatters collected unlocks a new stage. Up to 55 free spins may be won: Stage 1 - multiplier range x1, x2, x3, and 10, 15, 20, or 25 initial Free Spinz, Stage 2 - multiplier range x2, x4, x6, +10 Free Spinz, Stage 3 - multiplier range x8, x10, x15, +10 Free Spinz, and Stage 4 - multiplier range x20, x30, x50, +10 Free Spins.

Piggy Blitz Disco Gold: Slot Verdict
Well, that was, fine. Piggy Blitz Disco Gold performed about as well as expected to after reviewing the docs and going back over the previous game. It's bigger and porkier than before, but not like an enormous hog which takes over the sty and spends all day wallowing joyously in the mud and eating whatever it can wrap its gnashers around. For the most part, Piggy Blitz Disco Gold is largely business as before - landing Cash Coins, occasionally collecting Cash Coins, and nipping through the Blitz Spinz round landing and collecting more Cash Coins. It's a real Coin-focused slot.
Interesting then that the studio has attached a new Free Spinz feature, which does not have Cash Coins or Piggy Bank symbols in it at all. Perhaps it caters to players who have the desire to continue ploughing on through Piggy Blitz Disco Gold but need a break from all the Cash Coin spotting. Or, maybe it'll be a draw for gamblers who like the look of potentially getting useful multipliers on a game board which lands only royals and the highest value pay symbol. It's a thought, though Free Spinz do feel a little out of place. A little. Perhaps that's why there's a Mystery Spinz option for players who are pulled towards the Big Bass Bonanza style levelling up Free Spinz feature yet are struggling to shake the tractor beam pull of Cash Coins and guaranteed Piggy Bank symbols.
Still, if you aren't into Coin wins hogging the RTP and the flow-interrupting antics of their collection, then Piggy Blitz Disco Gold probably isn't for you. The max win has increased, now resting on 6,000x as a cap. However, this isn't a huge increase over the original's 5,000x, so it may not be the attraction that wins over players who didn't fall for the original slot's charms. The new bonus round provokes a certain amount of interest, but it also feels slightly out of place in a game with such a heavy emphasis on Cash Coins and their collection.
Piggy Blitz Disco Gold adds some new spins, but ultimately plays it safe with its coin-focused mechanics, making it an alright yet unremarkable sequel.
