243 ways of pirate action from Quickspin
Retrigger in main game with Mystery Charm Respin feature
First 243 ways slot from Quickspin since Phoenix Sun
Pirates Charms Introduction
Pirates Charm is a video slot with 5 reels, 3 rows and something as usual as 243 paylines in a Quickspin slot. It’s the first true 243 liner since the release of Razortooth (Phoenix Sun also a 243 way slot, but with expanding paylines), which we still regard as one of the very best slots ever designed by Quickspin.
Pirates Charm is playable on all devices from €0.20 to €100. It has a Pirates of the Caribbean feel to it, with stunning visuals and a very nice piratey soundtrack.
Pirates Charms Symbols
The low value symbols include the typical A, K, Q, J and 10 playing cards. The top symbols are represented by captain pirates, girl pirates, man pirates, pirate skulls and sheep wheels. The best symbol is the captain pirate and pays 5x for 5 of a kind.[table “24” not found /]
Mystery Charm Feature
There are no Wild symbols in this game, instead the focus is on the Mystery Charm symbols. These can appear anywhere on the reels with every spin and transform into randomly chosen symbols. The Mystery Charm symbols will keep transforming until players have a winning combination.
When the Mystery Charm symbols appear on the 3 first reels the Mystery Charms Respins feature is activated. The game then goes into respins, the Mystery Charm symbols will stick and transform as long as new Myster Charms keep landing with new spins. If no more such symbols appear the respins will stop and revert back to normal spins again.
3 Bonus Scatter symbols on the middle reels initiate the Stormy Free Spins feature. During Free spins, any Mystery Charms symbols landing on the reel set will lock in place for the duration of the Free Spins and transform to a randomly chosen symbol for every spin.
Two extra Free Spins are awarded for every full reel covered with Mystery Charm symbols.[table “24” not found /]
When we tried Pirates Charm we struggled quite hard to trigger the bonus, which was a bit surprising for a slot that is neither high variance nor of high potential. It took us exactly 200 spins to trigger the first bonus, which is acceptable, but for the second bonus we had to play through 718 spins. The reason for the low bonus frequency however is likely due to a large portion of the payouts being allocated to the main game.
On the second day we did land bonuses a bit more frequently, and actually managed to trigger the Free Spins after only 2 spins, but still, this can be a bit of a risky slot without much hope of staying ahead, or even a possibility to strike a huge win on a game where a full screen of best symbols “only” pays 1215x.
The game plays smooth and both the visuals and the soundtrack is amazing, something that is Quickspin’s strong side. Just a minor complaint – it is a bit annoying that one has to sit through and watch the spinning effect of the Mystery Charm symbol, even when it is an apparent losing spin and especially since they appear on nearly every spin.
We did enjoy the fact that it is a 243 ways slot and hope to see more of that from Quickspin. But considering its relatively low potential and the trouble triggering the Free Spins, its not a slot we would advice chasing wins on. With that said, we did actually enjoy playing it and do recommend trying it for a few spins at least.
This online slot has a 96.49% RTP and a max win potential of 1215x per single spin in both main game and Free Spins.
Pirates Charm is due for release on May 8 and will be available across all Quickspin casinos.
