Power Vault: Slot Overview

Casino game maker Push Gaming is the mastermind behind some of the most endearing, groundbreaking, deviously entertaining slots on the market. Lately, however, the studio has been dipping its toes in areas it might not have been bothered with in years gone by. Designed by its partner studio Reel Hot Games, Power Vault is a prime example of this broadening of horizons, being a classic, 3-reel slot, as light on audiovisual thrills as it is on gameplay. However, there are things here that may appeal to players who favour simpler slots involving Instant Prize symbols, Jackpot symbols and their collection.

Being a classic slot means Push Gaming's art team has had a chance to take it easy. Power Vault isn't an ugly game, but this time, there is no elaborate world-building, no characters, and little in the way of major eye candy to devour. Everything on screen does have a pleasant flow to it, though, and the music is a funky number, so as far as basic fruit slots go, Power Vault looks and sounds about bang on.

An actual Power Vault sits on top of a 3x3 gaming grid, landing winning combinations of 3-of-a-kind along its 5 paylines. As part of going back to basics, the studio has refrained from adding a Push Bet or bonus buys, so the only choice players have to make is picking a stake of 10 c to $/€100 per base game round. The game's volatility is listed as 'very low', which feels odd for Push Gaming, while the RTP is available in several variants, with 96.41% as the highest.

From the bottom up on the paytable are berries, limes, oranges, strawberries, Bars, double Bars, Bells, and sevens as the pay symbols. Landing a line of 3 matching pay symbols awards players 1 to 50 times their bet. The diamond wild lands in the base game only, and it substitutes for any regular pau symbol. Three wilds in a line pay 50 times the stake.

Power Vault: Slot Features

Power Vault beefs up the classic action with the help of Instant Prize symbols, Jackpot symbols, Collector symbols, a Power Vault Burst feature, and a bonus game with Enhancer reels.

Instant Prize, Jackpot & Collector Symbols

  • The Instant Prize symbol carries a prize value of 1x to 25x the bet. Instant Prize symbols land on the leftmost and rightmost reel and are available throughout the game.
  • Jackpot symbols also land on the leftmost and rightmost reels. These symbols carry the Mini 15x, Minor 50x, Mega 100x, or the Grand 1,000x prize. Jackpot symbols are available at any time.
  • The Collector symbol is present on the middle reel. When it hits, it collects the prize values from the Instant Prize or Jackpot symbols in view. If more than 1 Collector symbol hits, each collects the values of all Instant Prize or Jackpot symbols in view. Instant Prize symbols are removed when collected, leaving a dud symbol behind.

Power Vault Burst Feature

Instant Prize symbols, Jackpot symbols, and Collector symbols are collected by the Power Vault above the reels. This provides a chance to trigger the Power Vault Burst feature. When triggered, Instant Prize symbols, Jackpot symbols, and Collector symbols burst from the Power Vault onto the grid, awarding the bonus game.

Bonus Game

When at least one Instant Prize symbol or Jackpot symbol is present on the leftmost and rightmost reel, and the Collector symbol is in on the middle reel, the bonus game is triggered. The bonus game starts with 3 spins that reset back to 3 when an Instant Prize symbol or Collector symbol lands.

During the bonus game, an extra 3-position row appears above the main reels. Multiplier and Addition symbols may land on the Enhancer Reels.

  • The Multiplier symbol has values of x2, x3, or x5 on all Enhancer reels plus x10 on the leftmost and rightmost Enhancer Reels. Multiplier values on the leftmost and rightmost reels apply to the Instant Prize symbols on the relevant reels before they are added to active Collector symbols. Multipliers on the middle Enhancer Reel multiply all active Collector symbols.
  • The Addition symbol has values of x1 to x100. Addition symbol values on the leftmost and rightmost reels apply to the Instant Prize symbols on the relevant reels before they are added to active Collector symbols. Addition values on the middle Enhancer Reel multiply all active Collector symbols.

Power Vault: Slot Verdict

If you've been feeling like Push Gaming' has been broadening its horizon, exploring new areas, and reaching out to a new audience, then surely Power Vault will only fuel that supposition. Suppose a lot of casino game makers drop a classic slot or two eventually, but Push Gaming has never been like just 'a lot of casino game makers'. Or at least it didn't use to be. Whatever, Power Vault has rolled off the PG conveyor belt for better or worse, and you can see how a certain sort of gambler might be attracted to Power Vault.

Not the sort that is drawn to the studio's bigger, scarier undie rippers like Razor Returns or Mad Cars, though. Maybe a punter who feels at ease in a very low volatile slot with basic gameplay and a slick yet simple prize symbol collection bonus round. Instant Prize symbols can also collected in the base game even when they only land on one reel with a Collector in the middle. Other than that, the base game spins and spins, not really going anywhere. Well, the Power Vault hovers up Instant Prize, Jackpot, and Collector symbols, possibly leading to the Power Vault Burst feature and then to the bonus.

There's not much more than that going on, really, and the highest observed win of 4,112x the bet is quite low by the designer's standards. Gamblers who cherished previous slots like Jammin' Jars, Razor Shark, or Big Bamboo might be puzzled, but Power Vault is nicely designed for what it is and should help expand Push Gaming's player base in a different direction.

Bigwinboard Summary

Power Vault successfully broadens Push Gaming's portfolio, but its low volatility and simple gameplay might not excite fans of the studio's more intense releases.
