The multipliers of winning symbols are added together, and they multiply the win of each winning combination that those symbols are part of. Multipliers reset at the end of the spin.

The thing with mining slots is that if you've seen one, you've kind of seen a lot of them, since graphically they stick to a pretty tight script.
