Soaked by Seamen: Slot Verdict

Nolimit City has never been a studio to plot a course through calm, politically correct waters, and Soaked by Seamen shows it is completely comfortable recommitting to its more polarising themes. The game follows in the wake of earlier releases such as Flight Mode and Outsourced, and hasn't altered the previous game, Seamen, beyond all recognition. Certainly, if you joined the lads on their last seaborne outing, there is little need to reread the manual. The central action remains adding multipliers to positions, throwing Fire Frames in there, before looking out for things like lighters and bombs, which also contribute to the removal of symbols and the adding of multiplier values.

As well as being shipwrecked on a deserted island for a change of scenery, there are also new mechanical items to be on the lookout for. One is the expanding Banana, and if getting consecutive respins wasn't desirable enough, this symbol adds to that by sprouting into a full reel wild once its displayed quota has been met. Side Hustles are another one, providing yet another way to win or lose dough. Like the Extra Spin, they feel like the sort of side feature which will divide gamblers into love, hate, or ambivalent categories. Of more universal interest is the significantly greater winning potential of 30,000x the bet, though the probability of that occurring is less than half what it is in Seamen.

Players who didn't absolutely soak themselves in the original release might not find a heck of a lot of difference between the two games. Soaked by Seamen is a bigger load, though, as elements of the first have been expanded, added to, or tweaked, and players who would bet on tiddlywinks if they could get a load of new ways to try their luck. While the main gameplay is quite comparable, Soaked by Seamen seems the swingier option, more capable of producing greater rewards, but also more capable of serving up stormy seas. All in all, Soaked by Seamen is a decent follow-up, though not an extraordinarily better one, that drenches fans in another non-stop onslaught of double entendres.
